Great hotel in brilliant location.
Pros:

Location is fantastic for all attractions in Sultanahmet. The breakfast is well worth it many options available and an unbeatable view of the Bosporus River. Our room was well appointed and immaculately clean. Front of house staff were so very helpful in every way. Great dining options nearby. Walk to all attractions. Nearby tram stop. Recommend this hotel highly.

Cons:

Breakfast dining could start a little earlier.

GREAT BOUTIQUE HOTEL
Pros:

Amaral Palace in Istanbul is a luxury boutique hotel located very centrally.
It is within walking distance to Hagia Sophia, Blue mosque and the Grand Bazaar.
Our biggest disappointment was that after corresponding with the hotel several times, we were given a ground floor room with a view of the street and a wall of the building next door. We had requested a room on a higher floor which we were told was quieter.
Other than that, the room was very clean and the front staff including Bora were very helpful and friendly.
We were delighted with the heated bathroom floor, although the bathroom mirror was too high for my diminutive wife. The shower had a step up to enter.
The TV was a pop-up, and the room had coffee, tea and water.
There was a large room safe and A/C and Heat control.
The roof top restaurant had a great breakfast selection and a remarkable view.
The hotel has a Steam room and sauna as well as a spa facilities.
The area is very safe although almost every restaurant has people in the street trying very hard to get you to eat in THEIR restaurant or store. They are quite aggressive.
A great hotel which I would recommend to couples or families, but insist on a higher floor!

Fantastic stay at Amiral
Pros:

We had a very comfortable stay at Amiral Palace Hotel, and a big part of that was thanks to the wonderful staff. A special mention goes to Imam and Orhan, who were incredibly helpful throughout our stay. They answered all of our questions patiently and always provided guidance with a smile on their faces, which made us feel very welcome and well looked after.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a busy day exploring the city. The breakfast each morning was very good, with a great selection and fresh options to start the day well.

Another bonus was being able to use the pool at the end of the day — it was the perfect way to unwind and added even more to the overall experience. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul.

Great hotel in incredible location
Pros:

Location: You cannot beat the location of this hotel. It was about a 3 minute walk from the Hagia Sophia/Blue Mosque and a 7 minute walk from the Topkapi Palace. It is located in really charming cobbled streets within the old city walls - you can see the history everywhere you look but the hotel is very modern. At the same time, we slept very well at night -- despite being in the very centre of the old city, there was minimal noise at night (I think the windows were also very well soundproofed).

Breakfast: The breakfast was great - lots of variety and traditional Turkish food. There was always eggs, but then the other options rotated, from fried chicken, Turkish sausages and lots of vegetables, dips and sweet treats.

Room: Very nice. We paid for a suite and there was a massive bed and separate sitting area - lots of space. We had a jacuzzi bath and shower, and plenty of storage space for clothes in the wardrobes. Housekeeping was impeccable and they even offer a turndown service. The weather wasn't very hot when we visited but the aircon worked well when we used it and the room was generally a nice temperature.

Facilities: Spa was lovely and clean - we loved that the pool opened until midnight so we could come back after dinner and have a dip. The water was a lovely temperature and, although it's small with just 4 beds, it never really got too busy. Robes and slippers are provided in the room. The rooftop terrace offers incredible views over the sea.

Cons:

We only had two (very minor) complaints about the hotel. The first was the windows. Due to the arched shape, it seems to be difficult to find blackout blinds that fit. The shape of the ceiling also meant that the curtains didn't fall properly, so let lots of light inside very early in the morning. This was probably quite a unique problem for this specific room.

The second issue was that, because we were on the 4th floor (below the roof terrace restaurant), we were woken at about 7.30am each day by chairs scraping above, and this continued for probably the entire breakfast service (until approx 10.30am). This wouldn't be an issue at all if you're planning to get up early and spend the day sightseeing but if you do plan on relaxing, it might be best to bear this in mind -- or request a lower floor.

Disappointed stay, not the best for your money
Pros:

Only the location, view of the breakfast room

Cons:

The maintenance of the room is poor, in the bathroom: yellow and mould grouting, very lit sister building all night and curtains cannot fully close, the mattress is old and bumpy, the bathrobes were damaged and need replacing, the furniture are old and battered on the corner, skirting board too, no bedside table at all on one side of the bed, the other side only had 20 cm to go through (standard room are very small), light bulb missing, crack tiles everywhere in the breakfast room, staff not too genuine and not great hospitality, no welcome drinks

Other issue: 2 men entered my room at 09:30 am without knocking and with a room card while I was in the bathroom… only to find out this was maintenance, they did not really care that i was quite shocked and found it very intrusive
