Hampton Inn & Suites Waco-South

Very clean. Front desk was great. Beds super comfy.

For over 30 years I have travelled the highways and byways of America earning a living. Lots of those roads have been rough, so the fact I have been a Hilton Diamond member for almost as long as I have travelled has taken a few of the rough edges of the trips. I seldom write reviews because most of the Hilton Hotels in which I stay are well kept and well maintained. When I have encountered an issue, it has been rectified immediately by a concerned staff that seems committed to both the facility and its guests experiences.

It is therefore with a sense of regret that I'm writing this review - but it is a story that needs to be told. The Hampton Inn and Suites of Waco - South is the most run down, filthiest hotel I have ever experienced in the Hilton operation. It appears to me the hotel hasn't been upgraded since the day it was built. Carpets are filthy and stained, towels are harsh as sandpaper, my feet stuck to the bathroom floors, the shower was moldy (and I assume my shower was no exception). The bed was cheap and offered little support making sleep an on again- off again experience. The air conditioner was noisy and less than effective (old age showing in it's performance ) No effort was made to offer diamond perks (water and treats) when we checked in and all in all, it was a miserable experience.

All of that said, the breakfast chef was phenomenal. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the bacon was crisp and the sausage was done to perfection. It was a great finish to otherwise deplorable experience.

Wow! I have never left a 1 star review for a Hampton Inn nor have I ever walked out of one before now. The smell in the hallway walking to the room wasnt pleasant, but the smell with our first steps into the room practically knocked me out! I refused to take off my shoes for starters. I tried to humor my husband since it was late and turned on the AC trying to get rid of the horrendous smell. Then I started to cough and I couldn't take a deep breathe. The only other time I had this type of reaction was to a severely moldy basement in a house we looked at. Not only was the carpet totally disgusting, but notice in the photos how it looks as if nothing had been dusted or cleaned. The final straw was the gross pillow case. The girl at the front desk did kindly offer us another recently updated room. Not wanting to be difficult, we checked it out. The carpet was definitely better- but I've included photos of that room too. You can see the curtains looked like someone puked on them. The Vent also was gross, blowing cool air over a filthy vent. This place needs shut down until some serious cleaning is completed.

Breakfast personnel is rude and condescending. The night clerk has half a sleep on counter had food out Raton front of guest. When I checked out they said printer didn’t work which she lied because she didn’t want to be bothered and print receipts. The breakfast person in not handicapped and parks their vehicle is the handicapped parking and has no consideration for the disabled.

The Location near shopping and restaurants excellent. Also Close to major crossing two highways for fast escape.

There was no overnight stay at this hotel. They said we did not have a reservation. I paid for but did not receive a room. They wanted $300.00 a night. I left and found another hotel. I want a 100% refund ASAP from booking.com and a phone call explaining how you are going to MAKE UP FOR THIS MAJOR PROBLEM.

Disgusting. Don't stay here.

I tracked some type of black greasy goo barefoot into the shower.

I'm a diamond Hilton member and have stayed in MANY Hilton properties. This is place has reviews similar to the Waco Motel 6. I wish I would have read the reviews before I booked here.
I would give 0 stars if that was an option.
I contacted corporate directly instead of the local management. Since the bad reviews go back months with the same complaints, it's likely local management is complicit and should be fired.
