Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Swansea by IHG

Our room had an air conditioner that wasn’t pulling moisture out of the air. It was “cool” but everything felt wet. It was bad enough to want to change rooms- and we didn’t really notice til bed time. We just needed to sleep. We made the front desk aware.

The key swipes were off. We’ve stayed here before and will stay again- but we had to keep trying our keys for about a minute to get in the room each time.

While our room was clearly renovated- the tub seemed old, painted, and drained poorly. I found myself ankle deep in water.

When we arrived, the bulb at the front door was out. Small detail- but still.

Breakfast was ok- but the coffee machines were constantly breaking down, the toaster takes forever, and for our first morning- each table had salt, pepper and ketchup. The second day they didn’t seem to be out.


Given the rates for this trip, we really expected better. Everything seemed a bit off.

The shower in room 119 does not drain . When showering you are in standing water because of it not draining. I do find that gross.

The room was humid- doors and walls were wet. Sheets felt wet. There was a dehumidifier
Ossified in the hall that was full. There was no coffee pot in the room, and when I asked the front desk said “if there isn’t one in your room I don t have another one for you. “

Zimmer teilweise abgenutzt und in die Jahre gekommen.
Frühstück typisch amerikanisch für Motels unterirdisch. Man weiß es aber vorher daher eher keine Kritik!

There’s an issue with the hotels air circulation which is causing excess humidity. The hotel has dehumidifiers placed in the hallways but that doesn’t seem to improve the situation. The room AC was also set to Dry, the hotel clearly knows they have an issue but when mentioned it to two different front desk staff on separate occasions all I received was an apology. I’d be concerned there is mold in the hotel somewhere.

The hotel is aged with old shower heads and faucets, old TV’s and mediocre Wi-Fi. Still has old style swipe cards for room entry.

Room furniture and carpet had stains, although bedding was clean and changed daily.

La stanza odorava di statio e di chiuso. Un infisso della finestra era parzialmente scollato e con le vibrazioni faceva un rumore fastidio. Il letto non troppo morbido e dormire non è stato facile. La doccia aveva la tenda, che personalmente trovo poco igienica e l'acqua non usciva molto bene. Abbiamo dormito spesso negli anni in queste catena, ma qui non ci siamo trovati particolarmente bene

Tub stopper doesn't work so no bath water...ice machines only work on first floor

Breakfast was good but Staff was not friendly had a dirty table then they closed at 9:30 friends went without breakfast most other places close at 11:00

I liked almost everything. Amazing deal for the price.
Kids running and screaming in the corridor on the morning woke us up so not cool, but other than that it was great.

I slept comfortably but the room smelled like stinky feet. The shower needs a good scrub down and the TV's need to be upgraded. The breakfast and breakfast staff were lacking. The full options were not available all three mornings of my stay. The staff were annoyed when I asked for more milk and fruit. The pool room was uncomfortably hot. An open window for airflow is needed for such a small, hot space.
