Staci, at the restaurant was an amazing attentive server. She is the BEST! She was attentive and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. I hope that the Hilton values and takes care of great people like her.
Great customer service at check-in, room was very clean and spacious. Reserved the "Panoramic" high-floor room and was ASTOUNDED by the San Diego skyline, was absolutely breathtaking for us on our trip! The room ended up being a North-West angle on floor 29 of 30 and was out of this world, total "Sunset" room for sure. Check-in was at 4:00pm and watching the evening turn into "Golden Hour", followed by the complete sunset, was something that my loved ones and I will cherish forever! Seeing downtown transform from evening into nighttime (Downtown buildings/Petco Park lighting up, streets illuminating, people gathering) was very special for us, it really made us feel like we were living a swanky high-rise lifestyle of the rich and famous, right in the heart of downtown!
Regarding the high-floor panoramic room/view, we were able to see as far out as the Point Loma lighthouse to the north-west, the entirety of North Island (North half of Coronado Island, NAVY operated) to the west, the entirety of Seaport Village/Gaslamp Quarter/Baseball field just below us, and most of the east county mountain ranges to the north-east. Several hospitals that were visible at these heights included the Balboa Naval Hospital and UCSD Health center to the north-east as well. Things like Petco Park, trolley/bus stations, and pedestrians on the street all looked like little ants from our room and, so long as we stood there, they WERE ants lol.
Swimming pool was heated and was open starting at 8:00am and was wonderful! Pool staff were present and made the experience seamless, safe, and fun. Towels were available, but we brought our own. Clean facilities, pool was not over-chlorinated, perfect for younger/older people for sure!
Added pictures, but they all came out a little blurry. I need to stress how no mere phone camera lens will capture the depth, heights, and excitement of this room.
Parking rates, on par with Downtown and especially with upscale hotel solutions, is the biggest complaint. High parking fees per day start adding up, best advice to take Rideshare to the location. If possible, find street parking nearby after unloading your stuff at the lobby entrance and walk (If possible) to the front. Doesn't take a star off the experience because the hotel, staff, and amenities were all top notch!
Ate at the little restaurant and Mimi was incredible with our group. There were 15 of us in our party and she didn’t skip a beat in her attitude, swiftness and overall kindness. Would definitely come back!
We have been here two days in a row for San Diego Comic Con with multiple family members and friends. In the midst of a busy day Mimi was amazing. She was on top of all of our needs and so kind and helpful. I know she was so busy never missed a beat! She was attentive and quick and the food was great! Clean and fresh.
It was a busy day during Comic Con. We walked in with about 20 family members and Mimi was amazing. She was very patient and calm throughout a very tight and busy space. She made sure everyone was taken care of. Thank you, Mimi!
Rooms are very comfortable Location is perfect.
I’ve stayed at this hotel many times and getting consistent made service is always a challenge. I took me four times to ask for the service and I got half of the service. There’s so much is even left. They’re clean bottles in my room no bags for the trash and I left him a tip every day and nonetheless.
Breakfast was the grab and go from the market, the parfaits were delicious.
The breakfast was very expensive.
Hotel was very nice and staff are helpful
Room are not clean properly, bin always left with bag , engine breakfast tea you have to request multiple time, fresh towel missing, room floor not clean properly, breakfast way expensive.
After delayed flights, I called to let the hotel I would be in after midnight. I was told as long as I arrived by 1 am I would be fine. My co-worker checked in when she arrived and was told she would have to put a $75.00 hold to keep my room? The person at registration was rude and seemed not to care. Also, the room view of the shipping tanks etc were not "published photos" on what you would get. Very disappointed in the overall location and service including the slow wi-fi as I try to write this review.
The hotel is right next to the convention center and Gaslamp quarter. Overall a great location, right on the bay and very walkable. Convenient location to Petco park and great little downstairs store for small items. Downside: parking garage available, gets decently busy but easy to access. They charge $55 a night for self parking or $75-$100 for valet, pricey if you ask me. There is also an additional “resort” charge of almost $45 a night which was not explained in the booking - I thought all fees were included when booking through Booking.com but was charged at the hotel - this was not disclosed. Overall, the hotel is quiet and comfortable/clean - great experience, no complaints other than additional fees I was not aware of.
Perfect location! Loved the bridge from the hotel to downtown!!! And great views!
Nothing, it was all great!
Room and view.
