Pool was far too hot
The Sofitel in Siem Reap is a classic. Opened 25 years ago, it has hosted many prominent figures.
Like the celebrities themselves, the hotel has aged gracefully.
The property feels more like a resort—featuring a spacious, meticulously maintained tropical garden, ponds, and an exceptionally expansive pool area.
Everything is designed to ensure that guests can enjoy ample privacy.
Here, just as at the Raffles Siem Reap, the hospitality, professionalism, and friendliness of the staff are immediately apparent. It is a true pleasure to be a guest here.
The bar and restaurants offer varied menus, and the value for money is excellent.
Accor status guests enjoy a wide range of additional perks and personalized service, which is a very pleasant touch.
(Tip: The mattresses are slightly firmer than usual.)
What an amazing resort, the pool, the staff, the food. We spent 3 days here and loved it. The breakfast buffet was fabulous, a thing you wanted was there to east, the fruit was exotic and fresh. I loved the dried jackfruit served as a snack from the pool bar. The resort grounds are just beautiful.
Five nights was not enough. A truly memorable travel experience. Every aspect, from arrival at the airport to check out was outstanding. The staff is gracious and efficient, and the food delicious. The grounds, with song birds and a riot of flowers are truly lovely. It is as beautiful as the pictures. We consider ourselves fortunate to spend five nights at this property. It is unequaled. We wish we could have stayed longer. There is so much to see in the area. Special thanks to Solom for assisting our family with excursions from the hotel. Whatever your schedule may be, add a few extra nights at this exceptional property.
This is up there with the top hotels we've ever stayed in. The staff are beyond great and super helpful. The building and grounds are just so so lovely. E stayed for 2 nights at the end of a river cruise along the Mekong River. If only we had been able to stay longer. We had the hotel organise a Tuk Tuk for us one morning to go and see the sunrise at one of the temples. The cost was probably a bit higher than I could have found going into the street but we knew it would be very safe. The driver was so lovely and attentive to my wife, who was struggling to walk, we hired him again later in the morning just to take us around some of the sights for $10 per hour. Money well spent.
We stayed here pre-cruise for a river cruise on the Mekong. AMAZING!!! We loved the location, the grounds, the staff and food. The breakfast buffet is incredible. The grounds are magical.
What a fabulous hotel! It really was top notch and a really welcome, relaxing few days after our 2 month extended tour of 4 countries. The staff are fabulous, the amenities excellent and the food delicious. I cannot find fault with it. It’s set in a fabulous green oasis of a garden with a lovely pond/ lake area with walkways across the pond., it’s so pretty at night. It didn’t take long to walk to the centre of Siem Reap either. We experienced amazing spa treatments as well. We had a club culinary package which I would say is well worth it. After several stays in various quality hotels, this was the icing on the cake. Thank you!
Excellent choice - though I’m not a big breakfast person - the fresh orange juice that was made for me was deliciously refreshing.
I honestly can’t think of a negative - though I would suggest having kettlebells in the gym.
What a fantastic stay. Had been to the hotel before, only for a drink, but staying there was a slice of heaven. Great staff, thanks again Sam! The food was wonderful. The hotel booked our tour guide for Angkor Watt and Pen (our guide) was absolutely perfect, always going above what was needed. The hotel had a van for us, with cold water and cold towels to get us comfortable between visiting different temple sites. Once again the new airport is about a 40 minute ride so give yourself time.
I had a truly wonderful stay at the Sofitel Angkor. The location is absolutely stunning, providing a perfect and serene atmosphere for our trip to Cambodia.
What truly sets this hotel apart is the exceptional service. Every staff member is extremely professional and well-prepared, going above and beyond to ensure maximum comfort. My wife and I felt genuinely honored by the level of care and attention we received throughout our stay.
We chose this hotel to celebrate my birthday, and they made it extra special—I was even surprised with a delicious birthday cake in our room! It was a thoughtful touch that made us feel very welcome. We felt incredibly well-attended to from start to finish. Excellent service and highly recommended!
The grounds were beautiful. Everywhere you look, there is art, nature, and history. The staff was exceptional; from cleaning the room, to turn down service, to spa services. We ate in the restaurant multiple times, the food options and taste were also excellent. I think this is the absolute best hotel that we have stayed at!
At first I was sceptical at this hotel because the prices are high, especially for Cambodian standards.
However, the hotel is extremely well maintained and well staffed. GM and assistant GM are a lot on the floor and I can appreciate that.
Rooms are pretty, club lounge is romantic.
Had my bday dinner at mouhot dream, that was fantastic!
If I would have to come up with 1 point to improve: maybe re-imagine the pool area to make it more modern.
La beauté du site, la gentillesse du personnel
Manque des tables de nuit et des lampes de chevet dans les chambres.
Manque de prises de courant.
L’hôtel et le restaurant sont chers.
The grounds are spectacular and the pool is amazing, but the service and the food are “meh.” Tried to get assistance from the main desk on two occasions and the staff were polite but unhelpful. The breakfast and dinner buffets have a variety of foods but many of the options are not fresh or flavorful.
Every single thing at this beautiful resort hotel is wonderful, but best of all are the staff members. They are gracious, friendly, and efficient!
We spent 3 nights at this hotel as part of a pre-cruise package with Amawaterways. The hotel is very welcoming with plenty of grounds to explore and a large pool area with a swim up bar. The staff is very friendly and ready to answer all questions. We had a first floor room with a patio that looked over the pool area. The room was spacious with a comfortable bed and large bathroom including a tub. The main restaurant provides both a buffet breakfast and dinner. Cambodian and western options are available and the food is excellent. There is a small fitness center available. The hotel is near shopping and restaurants or a 10 minute tuk-tuk ride to the city center. Wonderful place to stay.
I had the pleasure of staying at the Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra towards the end of February 2026. While I was a guest I visited their excellent, luxurious spa. My aesthetician, Bo, was as charming and kind as she was an expert. I had three hours of treatments (scrub, wrap and massage). I marvelled at Bo's steady touch and the amazing products she incorporated into her treatments. I found myself relaxing in a way that I had not been able to earlier during my long journey to Cambodia. Since I have been home, I often think of that wonderful day and send Bo my best wishes.
We were surprised by the Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra on arrival with an upgrade to the Prestige Suite with Club Millésime Access which was exceptional.
The suite was incredibly spacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable. There was a separate living room and bedroom which made our stay feel luxurious.
The Club Millésime lounge access was perfection, the all included food, evening cocktails and afternoon high tea was amazing. Breakfast was included and so lovely to be separated from the buffet option if you wanted the alcarte option also included.
The service throughout the hotel was outstanding. The staff were warm and attentive and the property itself is stunning, with gorgeous gardens to get lost in.
Overall, the Prestige Suite with Club Millésime benefits made our stay extra special. We would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Siem Reap and looking for comfort, great service, and a touch of luxury.
