Truly exceptional.
This is, without a doubt, the most amazing hotel I have ever stayed at anywhere in the world.
From the moment you step foot on the property, you are captivated by the absolutely breathtaking architecture and gardens. The hotel is a serene oasis that makes you forget you are just minutes away from the bustling city.
My highlights:
* Unparalleled Service: The level of service provided by the hotel staff is truly noteworthy and goes far beyond anything one could expect. Every single team member we encountered offered genuine, warm hospitality.
*The Swimming Pool: The massive, free-form swimming pool is a spectacular centerpiece. It is an absolute dream and the perfect place to unwind after a long day of exploring the temples.
*The Lounge (club): Their exclusive lounge is of the highest standard imaginable. The dedicated staff there consistently went completely out of their way to anticipate our needs and ensure our stay was as pleasant and relaxing as possible.
*Outstanding Value: When compared on an international scale, the value for money here is exceptional. You receive a world-class luxury experience that would easily cost significantly more in other global destinations.
I can only regret that the standard rating system only allows me to give it five stars—this resort truly deserves so much more.
I cannot recommend the Sofitel in Siem Reap highly enough!
Great location, beautiful gardens and pool
It was very quiet with few people staying at this time of year, which meant there were about 4 staff for every guest. Great service but sometimes it nice to be left alone
Our family stay at Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra Golf & Spa Resort was nothing short of magical. Having stayed at several luxury properties across the region—including Sofitel Legend, Sofitel Bali Nusa Dua, and Sofitel Phnom Penh—my son, Soyakan, mentioned that Sofitel Angkor Phokeethra is officially his absolute favorite. Thank you everyone for your hospitality. We will be back for our next vacation
Sublime hotel
Glorious gardens
Suites very spacious
Club lounge on the lake well worth it for breakfast overlooking water lilies
Well located for temples.
Sofitel Angkor feels like a charming, quaint town in itself. The property is expansive, well maintained, and supported by good service and excellent dining.
During our stay, the property manager thoughtfully provided a room upgrade due to available capacity.
Special thanks to Head Chef Eric and Chef SK for curating custom vegetarian Indian dishes for breakfast and lunch/dinner. Chef SK’s bhel puri and vegetable momos were standout highlights.
An outstanding destination for a luxurious, relaxing getaway.
5/5 does not rate this resort high enough.
This was our first time in Cambodia and the first place we stayed and boy oh boy, were we impressed!!!
The staff were so polite and attentive to all our needs, going above and beyond without question or complaint. In fact, they were almost TOO polite and TOO helpful. From opening doors, to pulling out your chairs when you sat down, even re-folding your napkin when you got up at the sumptuous buffet breakfast to get another plate. They were all amazingly warm and friendly, and always greeted us with a smile.
The resort felt very much like a resort - lush green grounds, huge pool area, many varied sitting areas and restaurants and massive, well-appointed rooms with heaps of space.
The buffet breakfast was massive and all fresh - even honey straight from the comb and a fresh orange juice machine. You won’t go hungry here, and everything was perfect!
Believe all the 5 star reviews of this place. It will not disappoint. We thank all staff from reception to concierge, pool staff, grounds keepers, management and everyone else. You made our time in Siem Reap highly memorable and we look forward to coming back and staying with you again some time in the future.

Nothing really!
Pool was far too hot
The Sofitel in Siem Reap is a classic. Opened 25 years ago, it has hosted many prominent figures.
Like the celebrities themselves, the hotel has aged gracefully.
The property feels more like a resort—featuring a spacious, meticulously maintained tropical garden, ponds, and an exceptionally expansive pool area.
Everything is designed to ensure that guests can enjoy ample privacy.
Here, just as at the Raffles Siem Reap, the hospitality, professionalism, and friendliness of the staff are immediately apparent. It is a true pleasure to be a guest here.
The bar and restaurants offer varied menus, and the value for money is excellent.
Accor status guests enjoy a wide range of additional perks and personalized service, which is a very pleasant touch.
(Tip: The mattresses are slightly firmer than usual.)
What an amazing resort, the pool, the staff, the food. We spent 3 days here and loved it. The breakfast buffet was fabulous, a thing you wanted was there to east, the fruit was exotic and fresh. I loved the dried jackfruit served as a snack from the pool bar. The resort grounds are just beautiful.
Five nights was not enough. A truly memorable travel experience. Every aspect, from arrival at the airport to check out was outstanding. The staff is gracious and efficient, and the food delicious. The grounds, with song birds and a riot of flowers are truly lovely. It is as beautiful as the pictures. We consider ourselves fortunate to spend five nights at this property. It is unequaled. We wish we could have stayed longer. There is so much to see in the area. Special thanks to Solom for assisting our family with excursions from the hotel. Whatever your schedule may be, add a few extra nights at this exceptional property.
This is up there with the top hotels we've ever stayed in. The staff are beyond great and super helpful. The building and grounds are just so so lovely. E stayed for 2 nights at the end of a river cruise along the Mekong River. If only we had been able to stay longer. We had the hotel organise a Tuk Tuk for us one morning to go and see the sunrise at one of the temples. The cost was probably a bit higher than I could have found going into the street but we knew it would be very safe. The driver was so lovely and attentive to my wife, who was struggling to walk, we hired him again later in the morning just to take us around some of the sights for $10 per hour. Money well spent.
We stayed here pre-cruise for a river cruise on the Mekong. AMAZING!!! We loved the location, the grounds, the staff and food. The breakfast buffet is incredible. The grounds are magical.
What a fabulous hotel! It really was top notch and a really welcome, relaxing few days after our 2 month extended tour of 4 countries. The staff are fabulous, the amenities excellent and the food delicious. I cannot find fault with it. It’s set in a fabulous green oasis of a garden with a lovely pond/ lake area with walkways across the pond., it’s so pretty at night. It didn’t take long to walk to the centre of Siem Reap either. We experienced amazing spa treatments as well. We had a club culinary package which I would say is well worth it. After several stays in various quality hotels, this was the icing on the cake. Thank you!
Excellent choice - though I’m not a big breakfast person - the fresh orange juice that was made for me was deliciously refreshing.
I honestly can’t think of a negative - though I would suggest having kettlebells in the gym.
