The hotel has a great location, and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming.
The cleanliness was disappointing. The towels provided were dirty, and when I requested a replacement, the new towel also had a hair on it.
Sky way to the parking lot was frequently locked, resulting in having to walk down to the first floor of the parking structure to get into the hotel lobby.
Friendly staff!
Everything was great
I recently stayed at Hotel Ivy for a birthday celebration weekend, and they truly knocked it out of the park. From the moment we arrived, the entire experience felt curated and intentional.
The staff here is operating at a different level. A massive shoutout to Kaysee, Daniel, and the entire service team—from the cleaning crew to the valet. They went above and beyond to make the stay feel personal and memorable. Every request was met with excellence.
The bed was very comfortable and clean. And the hotel had everything you could ask for for the most part. Even a spa, bar, and restaurant that we didn’t even get a chance to experience. Judging off of the quality of everything else we experienced I don’t doubt the standard being contagious.
The real test of a hotel is how they handle things when they don’t go according to plan. I accidentally left a bag behind and didn't realize it until I had already left the area. They handled the situation perfectly, easing my stress and coordinating a prompt return of my belongings. That kind of reliability is rare and much appreciated.
The logistics of the location are unbeatable. Whether you’re heading out for dinner or exploring the city, everything feels incredibly accessible. Most of our destinations were under 10 minutes away. We never drove longer than 25 minutes to reach anything on our itinerary.
I have absolutely no complaints. It was a seamless, high-end experience that was worth every penny. I’ll definitely be returning whenever I’m back in the area.
I had the best time staying here. The staff are incredibly sweet and go out of their way for you. During check-in, they asked about my visit and I just said it’s my birthday. That evening, I went back to my room and found a lovely handwritten card, prosecco, and chocolate waiting for me. Then, they surprised me again with a free upgrade to a stunning, spacious suite! I never wanted to leave.
The room is also extremely clean—especially the bathtub, it was totally spotless. For food, everything was so tasty. I ordered the braised skirt steak for room service and it was excellent. Breakfast had so much variety, with really smooth hollandaise sauce, nice savory omelets, and good quality coffee. They really nail every single detail here. Such a great hospitality team. I am already looking forward to my next visit!
From the moment we walked through the door the service and cleanliness was impressive!
This is one of the nicer hotels in downtown Minneapolis; close enough to site seeing and restaurants and not too far into the “questionable” parts of town to make feel unsafe. The spa is a waste of money and so is their gift sundry shop next to the spa. The gym is amazing and their on site hotel restaurant is really good surprisingly. Parking is expensive and inconvenient everywhere in downtown Minneapolis but you can use the sky bridge to walk from parking deck to convenient hotel entrance by parking directly across the street (costs much less).
The entrance .... The decor
Open setting.
Daniel and Amber made our stay amazing. They were so welcoming and accommodating. The room was beautiful, and it was well kept. The atmosphere in the building was very comfortable. The spa also provided amazing service, so we will definitely return.
My biggest complaint was that they never cleaned the room in the time we were there. We checked in Saturday afternoon and left Monday morning. I was also surprised that there were no real drawers to put clothes in. They were just the drawers next to the bedside table. Finally, the valet kept forgetting to us our ticket, so when we needed to retrieve our car, we would have to just call down and it took a lot longer.
The king suite is was HUGE with all the best amenities you can expect. The bed was very comfortable and the upscale look and feel just added a different charm. Highly recommended!!
The Hotel Ivy was an amazing experience. I choose to book one of the packages listed on the hotel’s website. There are lots of options that include things like dining credit, parking, or spa experiences. I booked the Ivy Escape which included a dining credit and a spa credit. These credits were enough to cover dinner and a 50 min massage with the spa, not including tax or tips.
The hotel was easy to get to in downtown Minneapolis and included valet parking for an additional cost. There are other parking ramps near by as well.
The staff at Hotel Ivy were all very helpful, professional, and welcoming. I specifically want to shout out the front office manager, Patricia. While checking in, I had casually mentioned I was treating myself for my birthday, and later Patricia had sent up some sparkling wine and chocolate mouse cake with a lively handwritten note. I really appreciated the extra care and it made my stay all the more special.
There were numerous dining options, but I went with in-room dining for both dinner and breakfast the following morning. Ordering was simple and the food arrived quickly. I had the steak frites with a glass of the house red wine and they were both delicious. In the morning, I had the American style breakfast, with coffee and juice- also very good.
The room was beautifully styled, with nice views over the city. I had a great view of Central Lutheran Church, which is lit up beautifully at night. All of the linens were so soft and the bed was very comfortable. My favorite was the bathrobes included in the room. Very plush and cozy.
The only issue I had in the room was one of the streaming apps was not working, likely due to any data clearing upon check out. Probably an easy fix by calling the front desk, but I personally didn’t bother as there were plenty of entertainment options.
The spa was also a wonderful experience. Beautiful lounges and a variety of experiences to try along with your service. I would only warn that the water spouts over the hot tub do run cold water so use them after your hot tub soak so you don’t end up with a cooler tub. The sauna and steam room were also beautifully designed. Each space was great to explore after my massage. I had Brittney as my technician and she was wonderful. My only complaint was that it ended lol.
I also appreciated that the robes were generously sized, which was very reassuring as a larger person.
Overall I had such a relaxing time and I am very eager to come back soon. This place makes for an ideal staycation or special occasion treat!
The best part of our stay was how accomodating and kind the staff was. From the valets to the front desk everyone was very kind. It was a very smooth visit. I would come back to stay again
We would possibly come to Minneapolis just to stay in this hotel. The service was professional but, more impressive, was that ALL of the staff exhibited such a wonderful, welcoming vibe it made us feel at home. Beautiful room and common areas, perfect location, great bar & food service right next to the reception desk, and amazing staff–just what one would want traveling away from home.
The only disappointment, and it was truly surprising how awful it was since all else was wonderful: the Masa & Agave food and bar. Of the 4 of us, none of us enjoyed it–and it wasn't the waitress' fault as she was attentive and professional–but the drinks were horrible and the food, except for some nachos, below par.
Awesome comfortable room. Great bar/restaurant and convenient location
Your staff kept the stuffed animal we left behind, bush league move!
The breakfast sandwich, Bloody Mary and staff service was excellent!!
Nothing it was our 2nd time at the hotel and the front desk staff, parking staff and restaurant/bar staff were all exceptional as well as our late checkout assistance.
The Hotel Ivy is lovely, luxurious, and clean - with outstanding friendly service, and a perfect location for attending a Minnesota Orchestra concert. I will stay here again on any future trip to Minneapolis.
The bar tenders and anyone on the service team were outstanding. I travel to 100 plus cities per year and when you receive this type of elite service it must be recognized.
