The location of the hotel and Robyn at the front desk organising the possibility of two girls getting a room beside each other for their trip away.
Nice large property with secure parking garage. Excellent helpful staff very professional really enjoyed our stay there.
The air conditioner could work a little better. But we open the window and it was OK.
So central for shopping and restaurants and great parking.
Nothing
We’re delighted because the customer service is excellent, from the reception, restaurant and the back of house😊comfortable, huge and clean rooms, a convenient location, and the amenities that were looking is perfect 👌
We stayed at the Sheraton Athlone Hotel for three nights and had a really lovely experience overall. On arrival, however, the gates to the car park were closed and there was no clear signage to indicate that you need to press the buzzer for access. I had to leave the car and go inside for assistance, so clearer signage would be a great help.
Our room — 475 on Level 9 — offered panoramic views across the town, the railway and the River Shannon. It was spacious, extremely clean, and had both a bath and a shower. The bed was very comfortable, and the air conditioning was an absolute blessing in the heat.
The staff throughout the hotel were excellent. At breakfast, managers walked around checking in with guests, asking if we were enjoying our stay and if there was anything more they could do — a really thoughtful touch. The breakfast selection itself was excellent, with high‑quality ingredients and delicious pots of coffee. The only downside was the porridge: there is a choice of whiskey porridge or plain, but it isn’t clearly labelled which is which.
The hotel layout can be a little confusing, with a maze of walkways and different lifts needed to get from the lobby to Level 9, but once you get your bearings it’s fine. The Siege Room on Level 1 has an open rooftop smoking area, which is great, but the bar itself never seemed to be open — it would have been lovely to enjoy a drink while having a cigarette.
We had a meal in the ground‑floor restaurant/bar and it was simply divine. The food was outstanding and the waiting staff were so friendly and welcoming.
Overall, this was a very enjoyable stay. Comfortable rooms, excellent staff, great food, and unbeatable views — we would happily return on our next visit to Athlone.
Last minute break in Athlone. The Sheraton. Second to none. Fabulous hotel. From reception, you feel so welcome. The room was amazing. Went to the leisure centre . It was great. Spent the afternoon there. The food is fantastic in the bar and restaurant. Can't recommend this hotel enough.
Was a lovely experience from the time we entered the hotel until the time we left . We were made feel so welcome. The staff were amazing and so kind. The food was fabulous and the drinks were very moreish. I’ll definitely be back again.

Great location in Athlone town, right next to a shopping centre with lots of local bars and restaurants within walking distance. Lovely, friendly, helpful staff. Great atmosphere, food and drinks. My room was in the tower with a huge bed and panoramic views. Absolutely amazing! It's my 3rd stay in Athlone but my first stay at this hotel. I will definitely return as it is the best hotel by far.
Perfectly located in Athlone. Rooms and the whole hotel was spotless. Great value for money. The atmosphere in the hotel is so friendly, the staff were second to none. I will definitely be returning.
