Location was perfect, easy to get into town and also for local restuarants.

This is probably one of the best hotels in the city overall, but our experience with the budget rooms was extremely disappointing.
We had booked a premium room for the weekend but decided to arrive one night earlier. As our booked room was not available, we stayed in one of the budget rooms for the first night.
I would strongly advise against booking these rooms if you want a decent night's sleep and shower. They are located in a separate building with extremely poor sound insulation between the walls, ceilings and floors. We could hear almost everything. Guests in the room above us, a group of around four people, were walking around in heels and making noise until early morning. The building is also next to a busy road, so traffic and car horns add to the noise. At 11:30 pm, we went to reception to complain and were told there are no other budget rooms available and they will not move us to a different type of room, and also, that someone would speak to the guests.
An hour later, nothing had changed. We returned and asked to still be moved to another room because it was after midnight at that point and we desperately needed to sleep.
The receptionist then “found” another available room, came with us to the building to show it but said he needed to return to reception to arrange the access codes and keys. In the meantime we couldn’t access our room because in this building they use code panels to access rooms which locked us out.
He promised to come back and make sure we could access both rooms, but we waited for an hour and he never returned. Thankfully, we eventually managed to get back into our own room ourselves.
At 6 am, I was woken up by the sound of someone using the toilet in a neighbouring room. The sound insulation is genuinely terrible, and these rooms are completely unsuitable for light sleepers.
The bathroom was equally disappointing. The bathroom was another issue. There were no towel rails or hooks, so we had to hang our towels on the wardrobe door. The shower was extremely cramped, and the water control was positioned in a way that made it easy to knock accidentally while showering. On several occasions, this caused the water to switch to scalding hot, both my partner and I ended up burning ourselves several times. Water also spills out of the shower onto the bathroom floor, and there was visible mould around the shower area that had clearly not been properly cleaned or removed by housekeeping.
We were moved to our originally booked premium room early the following morning. After communicating all these concerns to the reception team, the only thing offered was an early room change, with no further gesture or compensation for the experience.
One final point for anyone travelling by car. At most hotels, parking is either included in the room rate or offered as a standard hotel facility. Here, parking is only included if you book directly through the hotel's website. If you book through Booking.com or any other third-party platform, you have to pay extra, which is worth knowing before making a reservation.
Overall, the premium room was beautiful, and the hotel may be one of the best options in the city, but the budget rooms, poor sound insulation, badly designed shower and lack of response to our complaints made our first night a very disappointing experience.

I did not like being in an annex next to the road. The ambulance at midnight was a wake up call and so was the build up of traffic at 5.30am

Guests above room very noisy. Was offered to move room which was appreciated.

Centre of town. Expensive really but nice room in the maze of corridors. There was a party on downstairs but I didn't hear a thing so that was good. Had to leave before breakfast started so can't comment on that.
All good except for noisy neighbours outside the room- not your fault.
Iffy shower hot water.
The facilities of the hotel and the location were perfect for our requirements (close to the railway station and fast trains into London)
Such friendly staff. Free drinking water by check in. Stall running up stairs to make sure we got out the very small lift and opened the outside door. Lovely lounge. Lovely comfortable rooms. Good access for trains, buses, taxis. Site seeing and shopping. Good entertainment.
The accessable room had a step up shower. No hand grips. The shower seat was too big for the shower. The door didn't close. The carer had to mop the floor. Toilet not useful for severly disabled or those unable to stand. Just too low. The lift small but the overall facilities compensated with good food.

The breakfast was amazing. Location is great. Bed was comfortable.
I have stayed at this hotel twice before now but never in the "cottage" this is separate to the main hotel. It was clean and simple but felt like student digs. I would not wish to come back if staying in this part of the hotel. The room was very simple.

Location was good for where i was working
I had no Hot water in the shower and when I reported it to reception when going for breakfast the rude receptionist started arguing and saying it was my fault and didn't no how to operate the shower. No apology or offer to get some to have a look at it.
