Staff were really friendly & helpful
There was a stain on the sheet which looked like blood & the doona also had blood on it, which looked like it had been there for a while.
Construction in progress so no room service or restaurant in which did not know about till after we had booked the room & no refunds.
Location
Very dated property and not overly clean.
We usually stay overnight in Canberra on our way home from the snow, but this was our first time staying here. We didn’t realise the hotel was undergoing renovations, so it was a little surprising to find there was no reception and that check-in was around the back.
We arrived looking rather dishevelled after a day of skiing, carrying an assortment of random bags, but the staff couldn’t have been lovelier. They were so helpful, kind and understanding when we explained that we hadn’t realised renovations were underway. Their warmth really made our stay so enjoyable.
The renovations were clearly reflected in the price, and our room was lovely, clean and comfortable. The hotel was also conveniently located near our favourite café around the corner. Don’t let the renovations put you off. We had a lovely stay and would happily return.
had heard it had all been renovated. The bed was too large for the room & had 2 dog beds with water bowls
Dining room not available. Alternative location was a good substitute
Budget and location
The construction meant that there was no cover from the rain when coming and going.
A ceiling light was fused in my room so it was dark in the wardrobe - I reported this when I left so should be sorted for next person
It is being renovated and very hard to find with the construction and poor signage for the changes
Room was fantastic, had really good heating which was perfect for middle of winter. The king size bed was so comfortable which was really important. Location was about 1km to the heart of Canberra so walkable and the staff were beyond helpful and kindly accommodated our request for a crib for our toddler.
The hotel is currently being refurbished so it was a bit confusing to get to the lobby initially though there are signs and the view from the room was pretty ordinary.
Under renovationp- no advice of this when booking.
Reception like a country motel, no room service, empty bar fridge, blood on doona, no restaurant, poor drop off area and no temp car space, poor and poorly signed temporary access , ceiling opening in hall, main street access closed,
Building and layout, location.
Not being told about the renovation, parking, breakfast was at another hotel a few blocks away.
My room at Peppers was very comfortable and well-appointed, with elegant furnishings. Although a major renovation was under way, this was well managed and had no impact on my stay.
Very little! Somewhere to hang towels so they dry during the day would be useful and save on laundry.
The hotel was under renovation. Had that been disclosed at the time of booking (which was only one week prior to arriving) I would not have stayed there. The front entrance to the hotel was under renovation so we had to enter through a side entrance, which caused a lot of confusion when getting taxis. We wanted to order room service at night (as we had a child and couldn't leave the room) but there wasn't any food on site because the kitchen was also under renovation.
