Beautiful and super friendly staff ! Restaurant was great !
Broken ice machine but was able to go to pod B.
The grounds are beautiful and we loved the view of the river. Pond and Koi fish are fabulous! The waitress was super friendly at the restaurant. We had a burger and fish tacos. Both were delicious! Free coffee in lobby was good.
The rooms were spacious, clean and had comfortable beds. The rooms are a bit worn and furniture could use update.
Had to get someone to turn on fire pits, which one did not work. Lots of cigarettes in the pits. Sitting by fire pit is one of our favorites so we were bummed.

The Restaurant
Beautiful grounds, comfortable beds, in very safe neighborhood
The room was basic but clean.
I guess the property is under renovation and the bungalows and their grounds by the river looked nice but we were in the pod section of the hotel and it was really not in good shape or well-maintained. The room was very stripped down. Very few outlets for plugging in electronics. Only one small garbage can. No laundry bag - had to find a room attendent and ask for one, all she had available was a small trash can bag. No freezer section in the frig - or anywhere on the property due to renovations going on. They did offer a free basic breakfast at the on-site restaurant which was nice. Staff at the front desk was not helpful when asked for off-site restaurant recommendations in the area. She said she lives in Redding so didn't kow about local options. The pool and hot tub were o.k., however there were no pool towels anywhere. Very disappointed in the facility, reception staff, and grounds - expected more since it is a "spa" hotel. Location is right off of I-5 and that's what we had a view of from our outside little patio. Not pleasant. Too high priced for condition of the hotel and grounds.
The water around the hotel was beautiful. They had a nice restaurant on site.
The room did not include a breakfast.
Convenient
Proximity
Walkways were dirty and pool area untidy. Website showed heated pool but water was cold. Pool furniture was dirty. Carpeting in room was stained.
Setting
safe, clean hotel, no homeless people nearby, 1hr drive to Lassen, 1.5hr to Shasta area. Hotel is old but clean. I liked the pond with bright flowers/picnic tables and fireplace on the property to have a dinner picnic after an outdoor day. Attached restaurant has good food but pricey, convenient to get there after checking in, long drive; no cappuccino/espresso for breakfast. Gaia is 15min drive to cute coffee places like Heritage and Theory coffee, I recommend dinner steak at Cattlemens.
facility is 20yr old but clean. No USB power charger in the room so bring your own power outlet to charge your phone.
Location to Highway. Beautiful gardens. Comfortable beds.
Converted motel and the outdoor hallways were dated and dirty.
Easy access to i5
The door to our room was broken and wouldn’t close properly
The room was very quiet and comfortable overall. Shower pressure was good, and a ton of space inside the room, even with a desk and large armoire. I was only here to sleep.
Didn't expect stairs, so will request the ground floor next time.
We like Gaia and have stayed a number of times on our road trips through western states. The restaurant has yummy food and the staff is friendly. We love that they are dog friendly and it's a nice dog walk to the river. This last stay, they appeared to be changing the landscape, so the outdoor spaces were pretty torn up. I'm sure it will return to 10/10 once things settle down again.
