My third visit to this hotel in 18 months and feels like coming home. The feel is fresh, airy and it has a friendly atmosphere. The staff were friendly and helpful and the cleaners came in daily, which was excellent. My King room with sofabed was spacious and had a modern bathroom. Fridge and microwave are welcome additions. Having a bistro for breakfast is good and I ate there every day. I didn’t use the bar or have an evening meal. The location is good next to the I8 freeway and not far from anything with a car. Fashion Valley shopping centre with some restaurants is a 10-15 minute walk or a 3 minute car ride. 10 minutes by car to SDSU. You can use the Trolley from Fashion Valley and park for free, which is useful if you don’t want to take a car to parts of San Diego.
I sat by the pool a couple of times but didn’t use it - I noticed they checked water quality daily. It had a nice seating area and free towels to use. The gym is a great facility and I used this. Useful laundry room too, with free detergent pods which was appreciated. Although 2 dryers were out of order.
Road noise from the I8 even on 10th floor but I got used to it.
El personal en recepción es muy amable, el hotel es muy cómodo y limpio.
Breakfast was very good! Pancakes were awesome!
Had difficulty getting access to the wifi network. The process requires you to join the Marriot Bonvoy program. But the web signup page was broken, not allowing me to sign up and get access to the Wifi password.
Fortunately the front desk provided me with a workaround, so I was able to get on Wifi. A happy ending, but requiring two trips on the elevator and lots of confusion all around.
Absolutely nothing! This by far was the worst stay with Courtyard very disappointing.
The staff, the facilities were not as pictured. Extremely dirty! No good sense of customer service. The bathroom had stains on the wall as I first walked in, it was horrible. Their parking is not safe at all either.
Food was good and nice value
2 days of no room cleaning
Breakfast included
Location is pathetic, near lots of traffic and highway. The restroom had torn shower covers and water pressure was very low
The location is good nothing else about this hotel
Staff, pictures
I stayed here before and it was good free breakfast free parking. This time no breakfast price was higher and $30 a night for parking per car crazy! To top it off was in room 504 and the mattresses are so old you can fill the springs in your back will not book this hotel again
The location.
It was crowded. The parking spaces are very small. The website did not say that the jacuzzi was out of order. The room was a little bit dirty especially the bathroom, the mattress are not comfortable. I booked the room for 5 people (3 adults and 2 children), but only 3 towels were in the room when we got there, normally there are plenty of towels in hotels. The breakfast is expensive.
L’emplacement et le personnel
Petit déjeuner inclus alors qu’il est directement noté sur la chambre. La réception nous avait dit que l’on avait droit à 18$ par personne par jour alors que tout est sur la facture de la chambre
The room
The pool was really dirty
Friendly to SDSU families
Washer and dryer in poor working order. Got black stuff all over clothes .
I liked nothing. I intended to stay 3 nights to see my family. Instead I got sick after getting bad salmon from Sprouts' deli so I couldn't drive across the desert from Tucson. And what did the staff do for me at the Courtyard? Absolutely nothing. No compassion. Not even partial reimbursement!
I had stayed here many times over the course of 2023/24 after my mother and sister died in National City to clean out their house and handle the estate. In spite of this I was treated as if I was trying to rent a room while living in East Village. I was a very good guest.
Location
The service, two hour wait for a room, werid stains on bathroom wall, bathroom door that wouldn't slide shut unless forced having to remind someone the room needed to be cleaned daily. ABOVE ALL...the attitude and condescending disrespectful person at the front desk, and the fact that my card was charged THREE times in THREE days for payment even though the room was paid for June 27 2006. Stay was Aug.1-6.
