Friendly hotel in central location.
Pros:

This is a walkable location to historic Anchorage and Delaney Park. The staff was above and beyond, especially the breakfast staff. We met David the first morning we were there, then Sherrian served us the other 3 days. Both were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The front desk staff was always friendly and greeted us each time we passed.

Cons:

I wish hotels could return to daily room cleaning. We were there for four nights and had our room serviced just once.

Location.
Staff in general were helpful, but some llacked knowledge of the local area. Humpys is not a quality restaurant... its a bar serving quick food!

Cons:

Room was not really acccesible. Had to step into the shower. For safety, accessible showers should have fitted seat to the wall, or a chair with a back to it. Shower stools are not safe. No back to them and no arms

Shower floor was slippery, had to put a towel down on the floor for grip. As a result, had to shower sitting down and unable to wash properly.

Not enough room to get the wheelchair to the side of the bed.

Lighting was poor in the room. Needs to be improved.

More attention needed when vacuuming the carpet.

Decent by Alaska standards
Pros:

After traveling through Alaska for 3 weeks and adjusting my expectations for what is “standard “ here, I was still a bit shocked by this hotel. At over $500/night (welcome to Alaska) and despite my Gold premium status, I would rate this as a 3-star at best. The entire staff was lovely and helpful but they are woefully understaffed and not particularly well trained. We had minor housekeeping issues- no housekeeping one day and then took a pillow out of the room and didn’t restock toilet paper. One free bottle of water and then not replenished. Granted I didn’t ask for anything but did expect a bit more. Onsite restaurant is basic (decent food and prices) but very limited. Room is fairly spacious and comfortable but not what I expect from Marriott. Room refrigerator does not have freezer section (needed for medication) so had to ask front desk to freeze things overnight. Not a huge deal but just an extra step. Location was good for walking around downtown Anchorage although honestly there is not much to see here in town. So- decent hotel but be prepared to pay 5 star prices for a 3 star experience.

Disappointing Faciity
Pros:

Location was good

Cons:

Four Points Sheraton brand positioning is to operate as a midscale to upscale facility. Given our extensive travel and hotel stays worldwide, at best we rate this facility as three-star with a five-star price, which would benefit greatly from an upgrade. On the whole, staff were very helpful but be prepared for a facility that does not align with the brand position.

Very nice hotel in great location
Pros:

Very spacious, we loved having a separate bedroom. Our room was very clean. Friendly front desk staff gladly accommodated our early arrival and our request for late check-out. Housekeeping staff was also friendly. This hotel is in a great downtown location, easy walk to restaurants, shopping and activities.

It was comfy, staff were pleasant, it was fine for the short stay.

My breakfast was delicious, waitress was very friendly and helpful.

Cons:

Didn't like being on the ground floor, would have preferred a room with a view, not the carpark. Kitchen smells permeated through to my room in the mornings so maybe an upper-level room would have avoided that. Some updating wouldn't go amiss. Also, having no transport, the location was just a bit out of the way of main town but didn't realise that at the time of booking.

Stay somewhere else
Pros:

First time at this brand within Marriott and I’ll never try another one. Bad room layout and poor maintenance. First room literally needed the toilet flushed and cleaned . Second room just sad. Zero outside light as the blind is stapled to the edge of the only window in the room. TV only worked intermittently and the staff just didn’t think it was their responsibility. Garbage left in the room by guest before us never picked up. Ruin cleaned only every other day so new coffee or water replacement. Cannot think of one positive.
