Fine
Pros:

Nice hotel surrounded by beautiful nature. Great continental breakfast.

Cons:

The waiters in the restaurant (evening) were a bit snobbish and not too friendly. Not the case in the morning or at reception - here the staff was very friendly, approachable and helpful.

Amazing hotel in beautiful grounds
Pros:

We stayed for two nights for an anniversary celebration. We were welcomed warmly by Harry and had a quick check in before going up to our room on the first floor (room 029). The room was spacious and well equipped with a beautiful view over the rear gardens. The evening meal in The Glasshouse offered lots of choice and the waiting staff were excellent, polite and knowledgeable. The hotel was not busy and we were offered a discount for the cost of the evening meal to compensate for a long wait, even though we hadn't expressed any displeasure so that was amazing and emphasised the keenness of the staff to make our stay memorable and enjoyable. Breakfast was self service and again was good with super waiting staff. The gardens are large and beautiful with an interesting kitchen garden and deer and hares to be seen frequently. My only criticism was that, given it was summer, although there were tables with umbrellas and wooden chairs, there was no external seating with cushions for extra comfort. It would have been nice to spend time sitting in the garden but the chairs were not overly comfortable.

There was nothing we didn't like.

A quintessentially English gem!
Pros:

A delightful gem of a find, set in wonderfully kept grounds. Immaculate and large comfortable rooms at excellent rates. Probably the best I have ever had in the UK. Superb beds with lovely sheets and duvet. Aircon is amazing with half degree control for immediate comfort. A real focus on carbon footprint and there is no waste. I was surprised there was no robe, but I usually take one anyway and what's the point of laundering that much cotton for one night!? I like it. Very disabled friendly, particularly if you stay in the courtyard rooms. The restaurant is very good with a good choice of dishes and an excellent buffet breakfast. The real standout feature is the consistent friendliness and so very helpful staff. A big shout out to GM Noel and his super team.

JUST LIKE STAYING IN A STATELY HOME
Pros:

We had an excellent 3 night stay in Executive Room Number 26.
Just perfect, very spacious, superbly furnished with a good view and ideal to relax and a very efficient aircon which was very welcome in the current heatwave. Everything about this hotel is a fine example of what can be achieved with the right attention to detail. The staff are all extremely helpful and welcoming, and we had reserverd room 26 when we booked based on the advice of the Front Desk. We really enjoyed our included breakfast and the walks around the extensive grounds. An ideal Hotel for visiting the nearby Highclere Castle.

Pros:
