Miserable and waste of money

The location

Cons:

The room was very hot and uncomfortable. Was told the a/c was fine but a man who told us he didn’t really work there but was still on payroll. The remote didn’t work he did fix that. We got horrible sleep because we kept itching. When morning came we could actually see and the bed was covered in someone else’s dog hair. It was all over us. So disgusting. My daughter has bad allergies and couldn’t stop coughing and sneezing. So we left early that morning. Told the front desk about this and was told there was nothing they could really do because I booked through booking.com Was just not a happy experience and will not be back.

Besides the bartender issues it was a pleasant stay .

Cons:

Bartender thru the weekend was very non sanitary. She would grab large a square of ice with bare hands and drop into whiskey. Whiskey would splash on counter. Witnessed her unloaded silverware in which she grabbed the eating end of forks bare handed to unload. Zero sanitary thoughts. She was pouring drinks so strong I had to take back a couple to have them remade for my wife. I asked her to use a shot glass for one shot only as my wife is not a heavy drinker. She again started to pour from bottle. I stopped her and again asked for one shot only. It was obvious she was irritated by this. I will not frequent the bar if she is still working as bartender on my next trip

We had an amazing experience at this hotel!
Pros:

The property was absolutely beautiful and kept very clean. The location was perfect for our needs and close to everything. The staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable.

Cons:

Can’t say one negative thing about our stay.

Not the best choice
Pros:

You know that no one ever likes to make a bad review, but sometimes it just has to be done.
This is not a hotel you want to stay at.
Staff is wonderful, but cleanliness is not their thing.
Black mold throughout the hotel and in lots of rooms on the Lakeside.
It has been reported and nothing is being done.
Patched holes in walls and haven't been repainted, leaking windows when it rains.
Nasty pool and Luke warm hot tub. Staff said no one wanted to swim so they weren't worried about the pool and hot tub. We'll, if they aren't clean, I wouldn't want to swim either.
Kitchen can't keep enough food to seve the full menu for breakfast and dinner. You're better off just asking what they can fix.
So if you want to breathe in black mold this is the place for you. If you want to stay healthy, find somewhere else.

It was alright
Pros:

Location, staff, it was on the water - the restaurant staff were very helpful

Cons:

No shaded parking, very poor lighting in the room, bathroom shower needs updating, no towel hooks on bathroom door, no ice on first floor….our friends’ next door neighbors were noisy all night, they complained 3 times during the night nothing was done until the next day.

Frustrating start to our stay…
Pros:

My husband called the day before my kids and I were due to arrive and made this reservation for us. During the call, he specifically told the representative that he would not be traveling with us, and she assured him that notes would be added to the reservation so there wouldn’t be any issues at check-in.

When I arrived today, I was told there were no notes on the account and that my husband would need to be present with his ID. He was five hours away, making that impossible. We were then told he would need to be contacted to verify the reservation.

The whole reason my husband booked everything ahead of time was to make the trip less stressful for me while traveling alone with our kids. Instead, checking in became an unnecessary hassle because the information he was told would be documented never made it to our reservation.

If the representative had properly documented the account as promised, I should have been able to check in without any issues. This situation was completely avoidable and made for a frustrating start to our stay.

Watch out Watch out for “third parties/scammers” when making reservations!
Pros:

I booked our reservation online through a website that I thought was the Hilton Garden Inn website; I always try to book directly with the hotel. When I needed to make a change to our last day, I was told that I had booked through a “third party”, which I was unaware of. When I called the third party (Hotel Beds Direct), they refused to help me, would not tell me how much they were charging me, would not allow me to change the last day’s reservation, telling me I had to contact my “travel agent”. I did not use a travel agent, I booked myself online, thought it was with the actual hotel, NOT a third party. They are scammers and refuse to provide information when requested; even when I spent 2 hours on the phone with them and sent several emails, they refused to help me with anything. I have yet to be billed, and they refused to tell me what charges I would have, so am very concerned what they will be charging me. The only person to help was the wonderful front office supervisor Savannah Crosby. She took the time to help me with how to contact the third party, tried to help me by speaking on the phone to Hotel Beds Direct, and was kind and patient while being direct with the third party. This is a wonderful hotel, but be careful-third parties will try to trick you when you make reservations and will not give you information when you request it, nor try to assist you in any way. I hope Hilton realizes these are bad players and should not be allowed to do business with them.

Disappointing
Cons:

Restaurant was disappointing. I stay here when I visit Granbury. Dinner was not complete… they were out of items and did not say so. I paid full price for my dinner and it was missing the other two items to complete a dinner plus the BBQ SAUCE for my pulled pork sliders. 🤨

El hotel muy limpio, bonito y las habitaciones con una hermosa vista al lago. La persona que nos recibió cansados y de noche, de nombre Laura fue súper amable. En la mañana en el desayuno nos atendió Willow, una señora amable, dulce y atenta y busco la solución, para los niños inquietos, dándoles hojas para dibujar.
