Clean
Everything!
There was no coffee in the lobby
Everything it was really nice. Rooms were large and had plenty of room. The clerk who checked us in (both) were amazing and very welcoming .
We were there 5 days and I am used to hotels / resorts where they come in and change your linens and make your beds daily but we only received clean linen after asking. Beds were not touched any day . I generally leave a tip for the house keeping staff usually 100.00/weekly but this trip we did not. Also , upon check out my 11 year old took the key to turn in and tried to hand it to the clerk she literally rolled her eyes and pointed to the key box rather than tell her to drop it in the open slot . My daughter looked at me like what does she mean I said drop it in that box . The clerks attitude was as if we were bothering her to expect her to do her job. Also the indoor pool was colder than expected so we didn’t use it.
The room was nice and clean. The lobby and patio area clean over looking the river.
Not enough variety for breakfast.
My grandkids loved the pool!
Breakfast
Review of the HOTEL.
I’ll start with the bad because it’s really bad and I’ll end on a high note.
Front Desk/Service: 0. If you’re looking for customer service of any kind, go elsewhere. It wasn’t bad; it was non-existent. The front desk staff acted as if none of them wanted to be there and upon attempting to ask any question…directions, recommendations, clarification about room, or whatever, each staff member I came in contact with gave me the impression my mere presence was an inconvenience for them and a real put off that they had to think, let alone actually answer. They knew nothing about the geography, sites or attractions. I came to the front desk on three occasions to ask what I thought were very simple questions and each time I had to say hi first (wasn’t greeted) and each time three different people at the desk seemed annoyed that I interrupted whatever the hell they were doing, which didn’t look like much.
In particular, I discovered a convention attendee who had helped himself to the gate to my ground level room and sat down on one of the rocking chairs on my patio and talked on his phone. I called the front desk to report this security, somewhat unsettling incident. The response wasn’t very quick, if at all. They did call back to say that someone walked down to the outside of the room but the person was gone. Less than 15 minutes later, the guy returned, sat down and made himself at home. This time I stepped out and told him the room was occupied, along with some other choice words and I made sure he would be extremely apprehensive to step foot near the patio again, let along the hotel parking lot. I made my point, but shouldn’t have needed too.
Management ought to reassess staff, especially front office staff. At the very least, teach some manners and basic kindergarten-level customer service.
Breakfast: 1. Nothing special. Typical hotel packaged, frozen, microwaved food. The waffles and waffle maker gets a 10. Otherwise, go out for breakfast.
Location: 10. Great location. In the middle of everything, easy to get to and from. Off the parkway with plenty of parking.
Rooms: 10 with an asterisk. Family room is very spacious, comfortable, quiet. My family room was on the ground floor which earned a zero. No view and a bit noisier because no hallway carpeting like upper floors and the main through way to and from the pools.
Pools: 10+. What you see on the website is what you get. Both indoor and outdoor pools were clean and spacious. The outdoor pool in particular had plenty of seating, though the seats are extremely uncomfortable, so I recommend using extra towels for padding. The lazy River is awesome.
Overall rating I give a 3 with the pools being what keeps this place afloat. Pun intended. I enjoyed a nice week in Pigeon Forge, but Music Road Hotel would have to pay me to return and I promise the hotel can’t afford me.
P.S., visit Parrot Mountain…the absolute highlight, in my opinion, of Pigeon Forge.
Great location… 5th time staying here.. great inside and outdoors pools.. great breakfast! Clean rooms ..
Overall I loved it, room and pools were clean. Great location. And very nice bathrooms.
The only things I didn’t like were the tv in the room was small, hard to watch a movie laying in bed, and the beds were sorta uncomfortable, they were like domed in the middle which made it uncomfortable.
The location to town and the ability to walk to many things from the hotel is nice the outdoor pool was a little cold the indoor pool temp is perfect but it gets very stuffy in their door pool room.
The upkeep of the rooms is terrible. We had mold on our baseboards by the tub because it’s leaking and they don’t do anything about it. If you don’t freeze out your room it gets so muggy in there your sheets and comforter end up wet.
The last straw was coming back to the hotel after doing things and seeing pest control there spraying a room right next door so I go to the front desk and ask what’s going on and I get told it’s “preventative” and there was no bugs. Why wouldn’t we be told that there is gonna be pest control during our stay and that it was just part of their normal routine. Especially being the room right next to ours.
We stayed here last year and it is day and night from last year.
