Staff were friendly, and the hotel was conveniently located for the event we were attending; it's on the edge of the "nightlife" quarter, but still pretty quiet. The room itself was a decent size and seems to have been recently refurbished, with a new carpet smell!
The room we were given was on the ground floor, right next to the hotel's "beer garden". This meant we had to keep the (single glazed) window and blinds closed during the day, despite our stay being on the hottest day of the year!
A bigger issue is the fact that the hotel has a large function room in the basement, and this seems to be regularly used on Sundays by a gospel church. Which meant that we were woken up at around 9am by their soundchecking, and then had to listen to very loud singing (accompanied by some very enthusiastic drumming!) and preaching, all the way up to about 11am. Which was definitely not ideal after a night out celebrating a friend's birthday!
A comfortable hideaway on the outskirts of the city centre. Good access to public transport. Good breakfast and restaurant choices with strong Yorkshire traditions!
Room was very hot, but inevitable in the heatwave. Rather too many steps for disabled travellers, but inevitable in a multi-building setting.
Great rooms in a great location
Not enough hotel parking although the paid parking over the road is very cheap and sec
We stayed at this hotel a few years ago and felt it was now tired and needed some sprucing up. Bed was comfortable but shower was intermittent from hot to cold.
The whole place looked work out the corridors stank and sound proofing was poor
Loaction
Friendly, helpful staff, nice wine, good location, clean, comfortable
Lack of facilities in room
Staff nice. TV and shower worked well
In my three days there my room was never cleaned Or even a bin emptied
The rooms were fine, nice wee bar.
The breakfast was cold !
Friendly staff
Well priced rooms
Lots of stairs 😂
nice place
nothing
Was close to everything we needed, the night security man was brilliant made us feel comfortable.
The bed wasnt flat was quite uncomfortable and almost on a slant which made it hard to sleep right. Wasn't happy with our booking pre booked it months in advance and they tried to take payment a day early so cancelled our booking then charged us an extra £30 to book the same room again!
