When we arrived, the room was not ready. This was fine as we were early so the staff kindly stored our bags.
When we came back to check in, there was a lot of talk by staff in another language as they were clearly talking about an issue with the room.
They then told us we had been 'upgraded' to a 2 bedroom apartment. There were only 2 of us so I'm not sure how this was an upgrade.
We went to the room which was freezing and the smoke detector was beeping. Rather than fix this, we were moved to a basement room.
Again, this room was FREEZING. The heaters did not work and there was very little hot water. The apartment was dirty and dusty. There was mold in the bathroom and when I tried to place my towel on the handrail it came off the wall. The bathroom is all tiled and freezing, so you can't even warm up with a hot shower. The the water was not even lukewarm.
When I told the member of staff about this at reception, she just laughed and agreed it was cold in the rooms.
We ended up sleeping in our clothes.
To add, we had to keep the blinds down due to people taking drugs right outside our windows and looking in.
From reading reviews, this has recently been renovated? The decorating was awful and sloppy. Moldy and dirty.
To sum up - dirty and cold. Absolutely gutted I paid extra money for what I thought was going to be a nice apartment for our first trip away.. I have submitted a survey and requesting money back.
The hospitality of the staff is what makes this stay special, (they tendered to our every need without making a fuss, The location is excellent for close proximity to all the highlights ensuring a lovely stay, the apartment was spacious and had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay, we would definitely return.
Have stayed at Staycity Aparthotels, Dublin, Augustine twice now, once with family and once with friends, and had a great experience both times. The apartments are clean, nicely-equipped, and spacious while the staff on both occasions have been beyond helpful! Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay at Stay City, the room was perfect for us and had plenty of room and everything we needed. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and outgoing and finding all three qualities in one place can be a rare treat. We will definitely book with them again. Thank you!
Very centrally located walk to lots of attractions. The doors don’t stay open which is odd so we had to prop every door open with our shoes. There is even a door to the living room/ kitchen
The rooms appear to recently remodeled with good amenities and in excellent condition. Secure underground parking is available for a daily fee paid separately.
There are multiple buildings in the facility, which are all accessed through one reception area, which makes access to the rooms less convenient. Being in the city on a main road there was significant noise, that was only partially mitigated by closing the windows.
The property was in an excellent location for tourists to Dublin . The apartments were clean in good condition and comfortable beds and sofas in the lounge. The kitchen was well equipped and made it easy to cook a meal with everything you needed.
Exceptional value for money in a city where accommodation was expensive !
Lovely apartment in middle of Dublin. Just in middle between Guinness Storehouse and Temple Bar area.
Staff were super friendly and helpful!
Apartment nice and tidy and exactly what you need for a city break with family.
Nice place! I would stay again
Nice place right downtown for easy access to everything.
Location is great. Near temple bar area, st Patricks, christchurch and brazen head. Short walk to Guinness, jameson and river.
The staff were super helpful, the apartment is in walking distance to most sites, plenting of eating places close by, very spacious.
The staff were lovely especially a member called Paul. Otherwise the property and facilities are terrible. I felt unsafe and the room was old and had a terrible smell. At one point the verandah door to our hotel was wide open when we returned after a day out which left us feeling very uneasy. The location while close and convenient was in a scary place. I will not be staying at a Staycity branch ever again.
We enjoyed our stay in Dublin and the 2bedroom apartment we rented was clean and convenient for walking to all of the sights. Staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint was the noise. The hotel backs onto a residential apartment complex with a sports court and kids were up until nearly midnight shrieking, setting of fireworks and making so much noise it was very disruptive. We had a room that looked down towards the sports court and I wished we’d had a room on the street side instead. Other than the noise which was no fault of the hotel, it was a good stay.
Not a good location
Very dirty and loud
Our room smelled of curry
Did not feel safe
So handy to get to from the airport, easy to find and check in, well appointed, well situated for groceries, quiet and clean, so handy for a bigger family with a kitchen/livingroom and separate bedrooms! I would absolutely use Staycity again!
Great convenient place to call home base for exploring Dublin! Close walk to many attractions and restaurants. Would definitely stay again .
Good space for a family of 5
Exceptional apartment hotel in Ushers Quay, steps from the river and numerous pubs/restaurants, half hour from the airport and Dublin Port. We had a 3 bedroom apartment for 6 adults with fully stocked kitchen to make homemade meals. Highly recommended.
Great place to stay, our 2 bed apartment with very comfortable sofa bed in the sitting area was spotlessly clean, very spacious and ideal for the three of us having our own space the night before an exam. Kettle, toaster and everything in the kitchen was spotless, looked brand new. The reception staff were very welcoming. The only downside was the door to the balcony didn't close properly and the street outside was a bit noisy, but great value for money, I would have no hesitation to recommend the stay city in Augustine street.
