Good central location, lovely room and very clean with good amenities in the room including a radio, a fan (important in this hot weather!) and lovely tea, coffee, biscuits and fresh milk.
Lovely staff and outdoor seating areas
Nothing
The inn is located right in the centre of Devizes, ten metres from the central bus station and a 5 minute walk from the canal. We did eat any meals at the inn as they were quite pricey and not included in the booking, but the dinner menu did look delicious (unless you are vegetarian/vegan, which seemed a little basic and overpriced). The rooms are spacious and clean, with lovely tea/coffee making facilities, fresh milk available, and cute little shortbreads provided. In summer, the hotel looks stunning with huge hanging baskets out front.
One of the bathrooms (out of two booked rooms) wasn't entirely clean. Food was a bit pricey. Because of the central location, first floor rooms are quite exposed to the street.
Beautiful pub ,well maintained and friendly
Beds were extremely hard , so I didn't sleep
Steps to bathroom difficult to navigate in the dark
Polote welcoming and friendly staff, everything you need for a night's stay, very characterful and cosy rooms, the pub and restaurant downstairs was lovely, on the doorstep to walk yourself around town, very centrally located
The squeaky floorboards but it's a very old building so to be expected! :)
Nothing else to report
Great location, lovely hanging baskets, friendly efficient staff. Good food. Clean. Water & milk fridge great idea. Made use of the lounge room on 1st floor. Good bed linen.
Please can you put plug points by the bedside tables. Full length mirror. Shelf in bathroom to put our toiletries bag on.
Wow! I loved this hotel. I was a bit worried about noise as rooms in pubs can be noisy when the pub’s open but no! Bonus traffic noise at all. My single room had everything you could need including a fan which was needed due to the warm weather. The coffee and tea bags were higher quality than you usually get and there was a mini fridge in the landing with fresh milk in little bottles and free bottled tap water. The restaurant served great food and breakfast was also good. The staff were helpful, storing my bike securely and were also very friendly.
Everything was perfect
Comfy room with some nice touches
Not sure about the itemised brekkie menu…bit pricey.
Beautiful room
Friendly staff
Amazing food
Welcoming
Parking situation was a little tricky, but not too difficult.
The room was lovely and the bed was super comfortable. Breakfast was amazing!
I could not find fault with this property.
The room was quiet and comfortable, with a super bathroom. There is a fridge in the hallway near the room with fresh milk jars and cold water bottles, and you can pop a bottle of wine in it as several guests had done!
The staff were really helpful with any request., have stayed in The Black Swan before and planning our next trip again soon. The restaurant menu is superb and the food really excellent.
Wonderful.
Central location
Found breakfast choice poor and expensive for what we were served
Everything was lovely
Nothing
Very central and great decoration
It was a particularly hot day and night if there could have been some cold water cans left in the fridge at the top of the stairs as when we arrived back in after our event it was late and no where to get anything..the heat was stifling. Full English Breakfast was delicious and fresh coffee too .
