Car BROKEN INTO while in valet lot 1 NIGHT, SMASHED WINDOW, No support from hotel
Pros:

Stayed at the Iron Horse Hotel with my friend for 1 night for Summerfest concert and since we drove in, we used their valet parking with the fee. The next morning, valet went to retrieve our car (sidenote: plan for a wait for valet when dropping off and picking up your car) and they came back and told us it was BROKEN INTO with the WINDOW SMASHED. I hadn't realize it was just parked in an open parking lot near the hotel.

Got a police report, got the valet manager contact information and also found out another car in their valet lot had gotten broken into the same night. Tried to get hotel to file incident report about this and did not receive response. Valet manager, Marcus Tatum, was hard to keep in touch with because he didn't respond in a timely manner until I tried texting him as another avenue. Then when the insurance claim was denied through the valet company, and I tried to check with the valet manager to see if there was anything the hotel could do to ease the hardship of dealing with this event, I was ghosted. I also tried to contact their insurance (off of the simple email notification that my claim was rejected) to gather information how they did due diligence in exercising reasonable care while my car was in their custody like:
- Was it secured in a lot or monitored in the lot?
- Was the lot gated or fenced?
- Were there security cameras?
--------I received no response with this request.

Overall, it was a terrible experience and out $600 because my car's window regulator was also broken with the window so I had to pay to get the part and labor for that as well. I didn't file with my insurance as with advice provided to me with the cost of the damage that it would jack up my insurance rate. The fact that the hotel didn't acknowledge or try to make anything right about it tells you everything about them.

BEWARE IN STAYING HERE WITH YOUR CAR.

Slightly down from past experiences
Pros:

We have been going to the Iron Horse hotel since 2009. Our experience has always been amazing. The hotel has wonderful seating options, and outstanding outdoor seating area, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, the staff is friendly and helpful. In the past our room was spotless. This time our room was not. The carpet did not feel clean, the fridge was dirty and the counters were not wiped down. The steak for dinner was amazing but the dinner choices were very limited. When speaking with the bar staff they are in the process of some upgrades.

Cons:

Inside seating where the volume is lower. Seating is restricted to 'the yard' which is a partially covered outside casual seating area. Inside seating is not available? Summer in Milwaukee. Whatever.

Excellent place to stay
Pros:

Great experience and such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Lovingly and respectfully restored hotel with unique features.
Cannot thank everyone enough who made our stay from the Uk so special. Special thank you to Shy on reception, Ellen in our hostess alongside Jake and all his hardworking staff in The Yard. Also to Courtney on valet service who helped us with places to go and see.
Food was excellent and super quick service
Accessible to a lot of places like Summerfest, downtown Third Ward and the Harley Davidson Museum.

Cons:

I ordered a cappuccino, tea and English Muffins for breakfast via room service. The espresso machine was broken, and the english muffins were warmed up rather than toasted. Not a huge deal, but was really looking forward to a cappuccino. Also, had to pay at the time of delivery rather than being able to charge it to my room.

A pleasant surprise on my travels
Pros:

The staff are friendly and provide excellent service, with a smile!
They also go above and beyond to be helpful and genuinely care about their guests. The accommodations are very comfortable and high quality.
The restaurant is lively with wonderful staff. I highly recommend Iron Horse Hotel.
