Felt more welcome the week before
It was excellent overall and breakfast was lovely. Helen at reception was amazing - credit to the hotel. Lovely location and the gardens were manicured to perfection. Can't fault it at all.
Beautiful flowers, clean and comfortable room, comfy bed, great breakfast
I had done my research and phoned in advance to ensure it was suitable for someone with limited mobility and reasured. As dad walks with a walking aid and unable to use steps however when we got there we were told my parents had been placed on the first floor and there was no lift!!! Disapointing as this booking had been done over the phone with the hotel to ensure suitable. The reception ist however switched them to ground floor which was great but no walk in shower so dad unable to shower 😞. Then we were told that we had to walk all the way round the outdoors for breakfast in the Oscar room, due to a meeting, this was very far for my dad and his back was hurting by the time we returned!! All was good however for me and my husband it was just a bit difficult for mum and dad. We had 2 rooms.
Poor !
Cleanliness amenities
Restaurant was less than expected but was ok
Help off the duty manger on check out to get to Chester
No bars had staff on them. Room was dirty and still had previous stays towels in when we checked in
Beautiful decorated. Period building with decadent decor.
Room was big for 3 of us. Spotlessly clean. Beds were excellent for a good night sleep after late night wedding. Good carpark. Would definitely lately go back .
N/ A
Breakfast was very good, but would have liked a better selection of fresh fruit.
Room was very hot, but a fan was provided.
The rooms were decent size with everything you need. The gardens were also very nice to sit in. The hotel was a few minutes walk from the bus stop which takes you into Chester and Wrexham
The mattress wasn't the most comfy and would rather have a feather than synthetic duvet
Location
Spacious rooms
Friendly helpful staff
Great breakfasts
Excellent value for money
Beds are a little on the soft side
Lighting in the bedrooms is rather dim
The breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice and it was refilled in a timely manner. The rooms were lovely and a good size. The room and communal areas were very clean. I would definitely stay again though.
The mattress was quite slopey, which was uncomfortable for my husband and I. There was a wedding on and the guests were noisey (not the fault of the hotel, but still affected our stay).
We loved the huge bathroom. Loved the breakfast and friendly staff.
Beautiful building in lovely grounds
There was a wedding going on which didn’t have any impact on us but I would have appreciated an email informing us before arrival.
The room was ideal
The staff had no idea what was going on.
