2 night stay for our mini-moon round Cornwall
Pros:

Breakfast was amazing with lots of options. Staff were really friendly and attentive. Nothing was too much trouble. Location was perfect and ideal. There are great views from a number of the public rooms. We were staying there for 2 nights following our wedding. The housekeeping staff lovingly created heart shaped swans on our bed for our arrival, which was a nice touch.

Cons:

Our room was comfortable, a little small and outdated but was clean and tidy. The corridors to the room were large, spacious but dimly lit, even during the day making it feel slightly oppressive.

Außergewöhnliches Hotel in grandioser Lage
Pros:

Die Lage dieses Hotels ist einfach außergewöhnlich. Der Blick über die Küste und den Fistral Beach sind wunderbar. Wenn man das Hotel betritt hat man das Gefühl, man betritt eine andere Ära.
Das Frühstück ist ok, könnte bei dem Preis etwas abwechslungsreicher sein. Die beiden Spas sind schön angelegt.
Ein toller Aufenthalt.

Sehr schönes Hotel und top Lage
Pros:

Hotel in super Lage am Meer und das Frühstück war sehr gut

Cons:

Leider wurde es mit der Sauberkeit nicht so genau genommen, auch das Badezimmer wurde bei der täglichen Reinigung nicht gereinigt (Haare am Boden)

Enjoyable 5 day break with excellent facilities in both the Aqua Club and Spa.
Pros:

Excellent Spa hotel but I didn’t realise there would be so many pampered pooches in the hotel. It was strange to see customers sit with dogs on their knees for breakfast.

Cons:

Too many dogs for my liking as it really was busy with them .

Lage oberhalb vom Beach ist wunderschön

Cons:

Zimmer: Alle ziemlich alt und relativ klein- dank fiesem Teppich auch eher schmuddelig und leider habe ich nicht das Zimmer erhalten, welches ich laut Booking gebucht habe. Das Bad war extrem winzig, keine Abstellmöglichkeit und auch sonst kein wirklicher Komfort, welchen man bei einem 5* Hotel erwarten würde. Restaurant: ok- aber relativ teuer für das was es geboten hat. Tische auch eher klebrig schmuddelig. Service- übertrieben freundlich aber nicht wirklich effizient. Frühstück: naja- es gibt alles- aber in keiner sehr guten Qualität- und auch nicht schön angerichtet. Wellness: auch hier wieder typisch englisch: nicht sonderlich sauber und die Liegen wirkten extrem schmuddelig. Diverse Pools boten zwar Abwechslung- aber es war auch extrem gut besucht. FAZIT: Preis- Leistung stimmt beim Hotel überhaupt nicht! Alles eher wie maximal 3* Hotel...

Pros:

The spacious rooms, views of the water, the pool and steam room area, Many seating areas on the grounds with views of the water. The breakfast in the restaurant was excellent. Within walking distance to Newquay.

Cons:

Breakfast for room service was a problem—I did not receive everything I ordered and they forgot silverware. But, after that, I went to the restaurant and was happy

Must visit if you’re travelling with your dog!!
Pros:

Phenomenal location right by Fistral Beach and absolutely wonderful dog friendly. Supplied water bowl, treats, poop bags, and a dog blanket. Excellent restaurants on site, Ugly Butterfly was 10/10.

Cons:

No attention paid to special occasion as we had let the hotel know we were celebrating our wedding anniversary.

Worth noting this property does not have AC. Weather when we stayed was fine without as it wasn’t during the heat wave and we were supplied with a small fan for our room.

The hotel itself. The building. The history. Staff were very professional and kind

Cons:

Can’t say much on that one. My octopus was overcooked but I was offered something else and restaurant manager was extremely attentive straight away. I declined as I was happy to wait for my main. Handled very professionally

Amazing hotel, location, restaurant.
Pros:

Although an old building, it's in good condition. The location and views are second to none. The staff are well trained, and their personal touch gives the feeling of a luxury hotel experience. It's definitely not the cheapest hotel in the area, but combining a stay here with a visit to the (absolutely outstanding) Ugly Butterfly restaurant in the same building makes for a really special stay.

Cons:

I would advise against staying here during hot/humid times of the year - the hotel obviously has no control over the weather, but the old building doesn't have air conditioned rooms (well, mine wasn't anyway) and at night time the humidity made for very uncomfortable, impossible to sleep, conditions.

Beautiful hotel and experience - with fantastic food, spa and friendly staff.
Pros:

We stopped here as part of walking the SWCP. And it was such a beautiful hotel and experience. We loved it! All the staff were amazing and super friendly/helpful. The spa was such a treat! And the incredible dinner whilst the sun set made it such a special evening. Would highly recommend!

Cons:

Our room could have been slightly larger. Though for one night it was perfect.
