Staff very nice but slow at check in. To the point of overwhelmed and could have used assistance.

At the check in, the person didn't direct us to the elevator which was on the other side of the building. I am 75 years old and it was hard for me dragging my bag

AC unit dials broken, Could not adjust fans and room temp. Not enough towels upon arrival for three people. Room smelled musty, hot tub in pool area not working staff in the breakfast area dropped cups and lids on the floor when cleaning the coffee station and instead of throwing them away, pick them up without glove hands and put them back on the stacks for people to use.

I understand when hotels don't have rooms available for early check in, but this was a Thursday afternoon, it was VERY slow, The parking lot was nearly empty and they absolutely waited until exactly 4:00 before even allowing anyone to check-in. I don't know if this is the policies of this property but when someone comes in at 3:15 in the afternoon and check in is at 4:00 in most cases there's a room ready and they would allow a weary traveller who's wet from the rain on a motorcycle to at least get a room 45 minutes before 4:00 so they can change into dry clothing! This is the only reason I didn't give the property five stars and I won't return for fear that I'll be in the same situation in the future because I'm a motorcyclist and the weather tends to be dodgy. I've stated properties that allow early check in as early as 9:00 AM if rooms are ready, I was only asking for 45 minutes of time so I wouldn't be dripping wet in their lobby.

If you're going to visit Albany, keep in mind this hotel is not downtown, it's by the airport. Getting to downtown is tricky without paying for a cab if it's raining and you're on motorcycle. We ended up getting trapped at the hotel rather than going out to a restaurant in downtown Albany and the only thing that we could get to in the downpours was the restaurant inside the hotel, as for bar food and fried food they're perfect but if you want a healthy balanced meal this is not the place to eat. Also, they were doing pub trivia that night which tended to make the entire bar an amplified nightmare of noise.
