Pros:

Beautiful building. Great location - close to our son.

Cons:

Pillows were not good the first night - were not soft at all. Got new pillows for the following night and they were great. Also had trouble with the television. Sometimes it would work, but most of the time it would not.

the hotel is dated and not attractive at check-in, in the elevators and hallways.
Cons:

I would have left if I had not prepaid. Room was not ready at 5pm for check in and staff couldn’t tell me when the room would be ready. There was only warm water in the shower and maintenance could not get it to hot.

W Foshay; a disappointment
Pros:

Made reservations October 2025 for my daughter's wedding at the Van Dusen August 2026. When I arrived I was told I requested a low floor. I stated I did not but was put on the 4th floor with beautiful views of brick buildings and cooling rooftop system. Tried to shower with no warm or hot water. The wall by the shower was crumbling due to water damage. The stay was to say the least depressing

Hot water and room cleaning seem to be a problem
Pros:

The location is good, but that only gets you so far. The first room I was in did not have hot water and the room did not get cleaned the first day we were there. I complained and was given another room. That room was not clean when we got there, the staff then cleaned up the room and we stayed there. We discovered that the duvet on one of the beds was stained and disgusting. The next day we were out of the room all day but the room did not get cleaned while we were gone. I had to request cleaning to come in. The staff was helpful, but it was not a good experience.

Extraordinary Experience at the W Minneapolis - The Foshay
Pros:

From the moment I first walked into the hotel I was greeted by valet and the receptionist(s). I was met with kindness. Both the exterior and interior of the building was magnificent. My room was phenomenal and the access to the Observation Deck, Prohibition Bar, and Living Room was amazing. Such an extraordinary experience and I will more than likely be staying at the W Minneapolis - The Foshay again in the future. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone.

Good location

Cons:

No cold water only hot! Over booked rooms and didn’t get the room I reserved! Had to sleep on a roll away!

Pros:

Location and staff were excellent. Decor was amazing.

Cons:

Bathroom was dirty and dusty. I don't think a single door on our floor closed quietly.

Shower glass leaked.

Great prices, great views and a cool theme
Pros:

I chose to stay at the Foshay for the room view. In that regard it was everything I wanted & more. The suite was up 23 floors and there were only 4 rooms total on that whole floor. The walls seemed a little thin, but I played a loud DJ set from 10PM-2AM with no noise complaints. The art deco theme was nice. I like the art on the backwall and the marble table. The room was so spacious seriously the other downtown hotels don't even come close in size/price ( the Rand, Hilton, Mariott center, canopy). The restaurant connected to it (Manny's) had top notch food. The living room bar downstairs was upscale, and the food/drinks were looking sooooooo good. Don't do valet, it was only $20 a night to park across the street instead of the 60 per night for valet. During my 2 day stay nothing was stolen. I booked third party and the check in had some hiccups, but they were giving welcome tequila shots at the door so like that kinda balanced out. Also, free champagne sent up to the room lol not sure if that was for my bday or the check in discrepancy but either way the service was amazing. Thanks for being there Foshay
