High ratings make zero sense. The pictures also appear to be better than the room actually is. The beds were uncomfortable, the ac did not work well, there are no locks on the windows so safety of self and property is a concern, the bathroom is tiny, the shower pressure was extremely low, water sprayed the ceiling when the shower head was adjusted, the fridge/freezer was frozen over, one bed was partially broken off the headboard and last but not least, there are cockroaches. So glad we did not stay more than one night.

The cleanliness of the room I understand we were on the beach, but I didn’t think we had to walk-through sand in the room and in the shower, and then once we got ready to retire to the bed, it had leaves in it of all things between the sheets, as if the maid just pull the bed up and made it presentable, it appears as if she didn’t change the sheets just made the bed up

We arrived late, so understandably we had no instruction from staff on room directions, cleaning protocol etc. However, upon registering the following day, we were given little to no instruction on the overflow parking lot, were not provided a room cleaning door hanger (or advised where it was located). The room was in OKAY condition, it did seem clean. However, the air conditioner's filter was packed with probably years of dust/debris, which did not allow it to properly cool/dehumidify the room. Also, the air conditioner vibrated extremely loud when the compressor kicked on. To which the only way I found to silence the noise was to turn it off. The bed was very comfortable, sheets, comforter, and pillows all seemed very clean. The bathroom was large. However, the water pressure was sub-adequate. For the price, its a good deal, as it is very difficult to find anything priced like this being directly on the beach/boardwalk. However, there are a lot of improvements that can be made.

Decor was sparse, plain and simple, beds could have been a little more comfortable. Door latch was a little iffy and should be replaced.

Parking

The worst hotel experience I have ever had. I paid for the entire night and was given a key, but after going out for dinner, I accidentally lost it. When I returned, the front desk was completely closed. They provided an emergency number, but I called multiple times and left voice messages, and no one ever answered or responded. I had no choice but to spend the entire night sleeping in my car, despite having already paid for the room.

I have traveled to many countries and have never experienced such a complete lack of customer service. Emergencies can happen, but there should always be someone available to assist guests. Absolutely horrible experience and extremely disappointing.

I recently stayed at the Ripetide Oceanfront Hotel and Tiki Bar for 3 nights. I stayed in this hotel/motel 12 years ago for the first time and then 8 years ago. Back then I loved the ambience, beach front and that it was in the north end of the boardwalk. So I decided to bring my 6 year old grandson for the weekend. I must tell you how disappointed I was. So let’s start .. I was not expecting a 5 star hotel by any means. I’m realistic and understand that for the price point it was going to be a 3 star hotel at best. But what I found was so disappointing. I felt sad, disrespected and angry. The owner/ owners of this hotel should be ashamed. It is such a disrespect to their guests to keep this property in such poor condition. I will show you with pictures and descriptions of what I mean. I honestly feel that it would be better to upgrade the rooms and then charge more.
