Nice rooms, good options for food, very courteous staff
Rooms are spacious and comfortable l. There IS a coffee maker (bonus) but no mini fridge which hasn’t been much of a problem. My rooms had no dresser, which also wasn’t a huge problem but I could have used that.
This is a restored property in downtown Portland. The restoration was excellent. The room was beautiful, roomy and well appointed. The public spaces are open and airy, with a huge atrium space that houses a bar and restaurant. Staff was friendly efficient and responsive. It’s not inexpensive, but competitive, considering the area and amenities. The only negative was the $67/night valet parking.
Wife LOVED the bed. Slept better than she has in a long time. Bathroom is gorgeous. Staff were helpful and professional. We are excited to come back later this year.
Great customer service, especially the front hotel desk clerk, who checked us in.
Very nice property. Top notch service. Great central location with easy access to transportation. Highly recommend.
The valet staff is the best!!! I am a frequent customer and they are always top notch!
We had a great time. Room was large and beautiful.
We love the convenience, location and friendly staff who seem genuinely glad to see you and serve you. Food is great. Walkability is top notch.
Spent a night at the Nines Hotel in Portland, OR—it part art gallery, part swanky sleepover! From the moment you step into the lobby, you’re greeted by mannequins and gem sculptures so extra, you’ll wonder if you accidentally crashed a trendy museum. The common areas come to life: sheer drapes flowing, bold and cozy seats, and secret hangouts. (Psst: The Billiards Room is a hidden gem behind an unmarked door—go play detective!). Room 1419 was a jewel box—think vibrant classical vibes, but, um, on the “fun-size” end of the spectrum. At just 14’x14’, it’s not exactly a ballroom, and the window? Let’s just say, half of it was blocked by a mysterious wall that created a mini nook for a desk and chair. If you crave sunlight, you might want to ask for a street-facing room next time! Bonus points for two mini-fridges: one loaded with treats to tempt you, the other ready for your personal stash. The bed? Fluffy cloud status. If you’re a “firm mattress or bust” type, you may want to bounce elsewhere. The bathroom, though, is spacious and swanky—major spa vibes. About the bill: I snagged the room for about $176, but beware of the plot twist—by the time I left, there was another $100 in fees (hello, parking, taxes, and mysterious surcharges). Dinner at Destination was an adventure: the airy, cloudlike interior with water views, and the cocktails were party-perfect! The food? Tasty, but the plates were so tiny you’ll feel like you’re dining at a dollhouse tea party. Oh, and there’s a $30 “amenity fee” just for the restaurant... why? Your guess is as good as mine! All in all, I’d totally go back—just with a little more space and a window to the world next time!
In the past at the Nine’s hotel my experience with valet was much better. They would come to me. Tonight it was different. They didn’t come to my car to check me in and when I came down to get my car, I paid at their stand inside. They handed me my key, that was it. In the past they would walk me out and open the car door for me which I like.
From the beginning, I had a pleasant experience! I had called ahead to request an early check in because I was landing earlier than my work meetings and wanted a chance to gather myself in the room. They notated the request over the phone and told me it wasn’t guaranteed but that they’d do their best. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the valet and offered in and out parking services. The valet told me that my room was ready early and to head up to the 8th floor for check in! In the lobby I was greeted by Jayden who had stellar energy and impeccable customer service skills. He was swift, friendly and courteous. The restaurant food and service was great and I loved my room! Will stay here again when back in Portland. Thank you, Nines team.
This is regarding the valet team at the Nines. They lost my Tesla key card but fortunately turned the situation into a positive experience with them being apologetic and going above and beyond to fix the situation. Matthew, who is the valet account manager and the front line supervisors that day including Kris and Curtis very much provided top notch customer service and turned a possibly negative experience into a positive one. Thanks Matthew and the front line valet team.
The service from Emory at the front desk was impeccable. She was efficient, kind and helpful. It’s the people that make a place. As a side note to the corporate Marriott overlords. Can you please STOP with the single use plastic bottles. There is a better way and it’s not Costco water. It’s filtered tap bedside …
I had a really great experience here. The place was clean, comfortable, and had a very welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly, professional, and made everything feel easy and enjoyable. The location was convenient, and overall it felt like a place where people truly care about their guests. I would definitely recommend it and would be happy to come back again.
Great service! Top notch crew working the hotel this evening. Cheers.
The hotel service is really great, I want to thank Janessa who upgraded my room, always provided above and beyond service and answered all my questions! Everyone at the Front Desk was kind, but Janessa stood out! Thank you. You also get 10% off at the Japanese store Muji next door, not everyone at the Front Desk lets you know that, so bring your key card when you go. The only issue we had was with our friend being able to get into departure and even me at the hotel guest, where my drink was because they locked the elevator at 10:40pm, even though it was before 11 and they were still serving drinks!
The hotel itself was great but the valet service was as very disappointing. Our car got a flat tire while under the care of the valet . It was flat when they brought our car to us at check out. There was a nail in the tire that had to happen after we dropped it off. We were told they are not responsible and could do nothing.
We had to get the car towed to our dealership for repair .Attached is a picture of what was in our tire .
Great location, spacious rooks and amenities. Thoroughly enjoyed and plan to stay agin the next time I’m in Portland.
