Had a lovely stay. Staff very helpful and friendly. Double de luxe room excellent. Just a couple of issues: bathroom mirror light did not work. Housekeeper told us it was in hand but we were there for 6 nights and it never got replaced. Also the bathroom sink did not hold water. It just drained away quickly even with the plug in.
Loved the gardens and outside space and breakfast was excellent.
Bonus; hot drink facilities, iron and ironing board available, fan in the room, extra water bottle, staff was very helpful.
Maze like corridor to restaurant, lack of lift to upstairs..
For some reason my booking was done with my first name and then instead my surname was same than my first name, it was strange...
As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by friendly staff and could tell it was clean.
Only downside was there was no AC in our room.
Location
Got my booking wrong & my deluxe room was given to someone else. Very disappointed, only offered refund difference & a free drink. This was the start of my holiday and it put a damper on things. Areas of hotel look tired, carpet & stairs, poorly fitting & thread bare, only found fan when leaving!
So there were good and less good points to this stay. In terms of the good, it was well priced compared to hotels in Bath and convenient for the party we were going to South of Bath. The room was very quiet, and large, and the outlook across the golf course very pleasant. The breakfast was excellent - well cooked Full English, large nice croissants, and fresh fruit.
The less good - no air con - which matters in this heat wave. No lift, which mattered to my mother who has mobility issues. Rather old fashioned decor. Feels very like a conference hotel. We booked the suite and the room had no door on the dark bathroom. The mirror in the bathroom was too poorly lit to apply make up, and there was a step down to a different level in the bathroom, which both I and my husband didn't see and nearly had a twisted ankle!
staff were friendly. Breakfast was fine
The shower head slipped down the vertical pole and there was no way of fixing it. Also the bath was very slippery
The room was amazing staff were excellent
Nothing not too like really
L’accoglienza
Mancava l’ascensore per i piani superiori e io ho dovuto portare a mano la valigia pesante
The breakfast was amazing. The staff were polite, courteoys and very helpful
It was extremely hot weatber and with no air conditioning in the bedrooms it was, at times, very uncomfortable.
The room was clean and comfortable and we had the benefit of being in a corner room allowing us to open both windows and a through breeze. Breakfast was good although a little overpriced. Staff helpful.
The price on the food could have been a little lower.
Excellent location for exploring the attractions in the area. Kilver court gardens a must, Shepton Mallet prison visit brilliant, Dorset and Somerset railway an experience and only a short walk to bus stop for a ride to Bath City (saving that for the next visit!) Comfy light and airy lounges, however bedrooms need air conditioning in this extreme heat! Good value with comfy beds, fluffy towels and an excellent breakfast. Very clean and quiet room. Lovely reception staff and well presented food in restaurant. Modern fitted gym and tons of parking on site. We will return!
Staff were very helpful. Checking in and out were good.
No air con in the room and the weather was hot. Fairly expensive for the location and quality of hotel.
Good location for exploring locally. Beautiful room and golf course view. Staff very helpful.
Lack of aircon but it is an old building.
Friendly staff, amazing gym, clean..
Old fashioned, needs updating, dirty windows
