Best Western Centurion Hotel is located near Radstock in Somerset. It is a good hotel with a 9 hole golf course, a gym and restaurant. The location suited me because I had an engagement not far away, but I think the immediate local area does not provide much interest for the tourist. If they are prepared to use this hotel as a centre for exploring the wider area, there are some very interesting places to visit by car nearby in Somerset and elsewhere in the southwest of England.
The staff were excellent. On arrival I was welcomed in a friendly and professional way by clearly competent and well trained reception staff.
The room I stayed in was cleaned and well prepared, pleasantly furnished and decorated, though perhaps in need of a little modernisation.
The grounds are amazing with wonderful views across the golf course, and a garden pleasant to sit in if a little lacking in imaginative planting.
I ate lunch, dinner and breakfast in the restaurant.
The breakfast was excellent, with the usual range of fruit juices, cereals, pastries, etc. The full English breakfast was freshly cooked and included, as well as sausage, bacon and black pudding, real cooked tomato (not out of a tin!), real mushrooms (also not tinned) and freshly cooked scrambled egg (not kept in a tray to go cold). The only minor issue was the coffee which was kept in a flask for self-service and was not very hot.
Lunch and dinner were not quite so exciting. The service was excellent and the food was perfectly acceptable. But it was more good pub food, rather than good quality restaurant food. I feel mean saying this because I feel sure it must suit most of those who eat here, but I had hoped for more of a treat. Sorry, Centurion.
Overall, I was happy with my stay and I would have given 4 stars if the area had been more interesting and lunch and dinner of better quality.
Finally, many thanks to the kind, professional and friendly staff who made my stay a good one.
Beautiful stay
Lovely staff .
Clean ,comfy, peaceful
Food was absolutely gorgeous 😍
Special shout out to Colin manager for going above and beyond
Ease of checking in and friendly staff even when busy with a wedding.
Views outstanding and beautiful
Nothing but if nit picking would say lacking plug sockets or ouletlets in wrong place.
By the bed only 2 sockets and 1 had lamp in and behind bedside cabinet.
To plug the kettle in had to squeeze behind tv
Grounds
Dated/ no swimming pool
Тихо място сред природата, добро посрещане и като цяло няма нещо което не ми хареса, бих посетила отново
Goede bedden. Vriendelijk personeel.

Great location for what we needed, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the room was spacious and comfortable, food at the restaurant was great and affordable overall a great place to stay..
Great location exceptional staff with a friendly welcome great value for money
Fab hotel
Friendly staff
Food was amazing we had the Sunday roast beef, tasted amzing and great value.
Plenty of parking, although very busy when we arrived .
We were hot and had to open a window, there quite a bit of road noise, didn't ruin the stay but was noticeable.
Very pleasant, clean hotel, only stayed one night room only whilst visiting family close by, but would definitely return in future,
Perfect for one night stay. Had absolutely delicious dinner in the restaurant.
Huge property, almost get lost on way to bedrooms! Used mostly for weddings, meetings.
Stayed here for a couple of nights as we wanted to visit a few places nearby (Longleat, Bath etc) and the hotel was reasonably priced compared to options closer to Bath.
When we arrived the receptionist was very friendly and got us checked in, we had an issue with our room (radiator blasting heat on a hot day with a broken thermostat so it wouldn’t switch off), they were very accommodating and moved us to a new room (possibly an upgraded one).
The room itself was spotlessly clean, albeit quite dated. Amenities in the room were good with tea and coffee facilities and bottled water provided.
The shower was nice and warm, although the head was damaged and struggled to stay up.
Did have an issue on the way out where they claimed we’d racked up a bill in their restaurant (we hadn’t used it), and clearly didn’t believe us when we said we hadn’t!
Massive car park attached to it too, no struggles parking
Friendly staff.
Nothing as such.
Stayed overnight for a party that was being held at the hotel. Room was great but it seems expensive for the level of service. Hotel staff are very friendly and the hotel and grounds are kept in excellent condition, but just a few gripes that stopped me from giving it 4 out 5. At breakfast there was no white sugar, orange juice or semi-skimmed milk plus I had to go and find a member of staff so we could order breakfast. In the function room during the party there appeared to be a lock of tumbler glasses so people were drinking whisky, etc out of half pint glasses. As I said not huge issues but just a few niggling things
The location was perfect, a short drive into Bath and walking distance to local shops. The staff were also friendly and the food was good.
