Holiday Inn Ashford Central by IHG

I booked 3 rooms for 3 people and paid, when they arrived they found one room ok, the 2nd couldn't be found initially and was then told it wasn't paid for and they were charged separately. The 3rd same story but the guest refused to pay. Took more than 12 hours to get the guest refunded and we're still waiting to see it in the account.

Rooms are tired and need redoing. Corridors also tired. Wasn’t told about the outside area and bar when we arrived only found it on last night. Standing lamp is wobbly and doesn’t work

July 2026. We were told that this used to be a transit hotel for asylum seekers and had just had a grand reopening. This place is Still being renovated. Rooms are big, nice, some shiny and newly renovated on 2nd floor. The corridors esp ground floor, are still in a state, battered and bruised, in need of love and attention. The staff not well presented (it’s so easy to iron a shirt ) and offered us one room with black mould and damp without noticing. We’re used to third world travelling and expending a little patience to get things … working … this reminded us of that experience.

Air conditioning was not working due to which I couldn't sleep

The bar, although was a nice area didn't have a good selection of beer and traditional ciders. I think they had a busy weekend and just weren't prepared for last minute bookings on a Monday.

Restaurant menu was basic.

Had a serious incident with a person trying to enter our room and making excuses for doing so at 3 am im the morning.
He was claiming to be staff and said we hadn't booked in and that my key was at reception
But that's rubbish as I had our key to get into our room he even said our door was open abit. But he had opened it.Also at reception there was a piece of paper with our room number on with Apologise written beside it.
It was a very traumatic incident for me and spoilt our night away. I couldn't go back to sleep and had a very lo.ng day Sunday includng a latenight ferry trip.
What if he was trying to get in and rob us or something .ore sinister.
I won't get over this for a long time.

De temperatuur regeling. Het was een erg warme dag en bij het betreden van de kamer was het alsof je een vriescel instapte. De airco stond aan en hoewel deze kon worden uitgezet was het niet mogelijk de temperatuur te regelen. Die stond standaard op 20 graden maar het voelde veel kouder aan. Raam kon wel open maar kamer bleef vrij koud. Op de bedden lag een dik zwaar dekbed. Eigenlijk weer te dik want eronder was te warm en met alleen een laken weer te koud. Een dunne deken was perfect geweest maar die waren niet voorhanden. Daarom helaas niet zo goed geslapen.

Everything, the lobby and restaurant area was done up… but the hallways and rooms let the hotel down

Why oh why can't you get decent air-con ?? It's 35 degrees outside and you can't sleep as the room is about the same temperature, I'm in a 2 star stopover hotel in Reims at the moment and the room is super cool in a heatwave

Dirty, poorly managed, short staff at breakfast time.

Obviously, building work going on near by and it was not clear how to get around the carpark. But it being an unseasoned hot summer the AC was not working which was a pain.

The common areas and corridors in the hotel are a mess and badly need redecorating. Bed very soft and uncomfortable. I have three bites from that night which look a lot like bed bug bites. Air conditioning worked but temperature control did not. USB socket to charge phone did not work. Scuff marks everywhere, the property looks very shabby.
