We stayed for two nights in a double room with two double beds as a group of four adults while attending the Luke Combs concert at Murrayfield.
Overall, we had a lovely stay. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. The location was ideal for what we needed – it was only around a 15-minute taxi ride into Edinburgh city centre and about a 30-minute walk to Murrayfield Stadium, making it very convenient for the concert.
The only slight downside was the price. We paid around £822 for the two-night stay, which I imagine was because of the concert weekend. Looking at other weekends, the rates are much lower, so the value for money didn't feel quite as good on this occasion. That said, we understand prices often increase during major events.
Despite the higher cost, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend the hotel. It's a lovely place with great staff, comfortable rooms, and a convenient location.
Fabulous location to walk to Murrayfield for a concert
Breakfast, staff friendliness
Bed extremely uncomfortable, air con didn't work. Fan provided took ages to cool down the room, couldn't open window either. No cleaning of the bathroom the day before we left.
Great breakfast, the pool was a welcomed bonus

Location
Bar service, rude staff
BAR and food in hotel is amazing!! Shout out to Imran for the best service, he kept returning to check on us, to see if we needed another drink or any more food or anything. Staff are lovely. One brilliant thing in the hotel was that when we bought an adult meal kids ate from the kids buffet for FREE! Also the same for the buffet breakfast so I paid £16.99 for me and my son got to have the buffet for FREE again. Brilliant. Unsure if it's everyday or just during school holidays but definitely enquire.
Location is brilliant, though no little convenience stores nearby from what we saw. Rooms good enough, a little on the cosy side size wise. Toilet could have done with bleaching, quiet and minimal noise and disruption.
Overall enjoyable stay without complaints. Told them when we wanted bedding completely changed and they jumped right onto it. Oh also...the vending machine in swim area has bottle of water if you're struggling for plastic bottled water at any point. Beef wellington was on point! ..as pictured
I think that this hotel is a solid three star trying to be a four star but not doing a very good job at it. This review is going to be based on a stay that does not involve the zoo. I can see where people who are going to the zoo would definitely give this a five star location. We were in the city to explore the city and the countryside. There is a bus that goes straight from the airport to the hotel, which is amazing. There’s a bus stop out front of the hotel that takes you to different parts of the city if you are brave enough to use it and have the skill set to navigate the different types of bus systems within the city. If you don’t have a car and you’re not good at travelling on buses because you don’t come from a city with transit this location is not going to be very friendly to you. The closest grocery store or a place where you can buy some snacks for your room or for breakfast is a 30 minute walk. There is no fridge within the room nor microwave. There is one restaurant across the street and it is not open all the time. The restaurant within the hotel is trying really hard, but it is sincerely overpriced and a typical tourist trap when you base quality of dishes versus cost I’m not going to go into that here because this is not a review of that restaurant. I have a separate scathing review of our experience on another review. There was a very good attempt at making the room clean, but the bathroom door did not close and the toilet was ancient and could use some upgrades. Again this review is based on not physically staying within the area but using this as a place to sleep, I think this hotel is an extremely viable option for some families and people that are coming to the area for a specific reason, unfortunately I don’t think this is a good stop for people who are going to be exploring the beautiful city or the countryside.
Transport from the hotel extremely good. So good for the zoo.
Booked 2 rooms, only in both rooms 5mins when we had to ask for another 2. Rooms dirty, clothes from previous guests left in room. Staff were good for that but restaurant staff not very polite. Always had to ask for menus. When we got the bill for a meal they tried to charge kids meals, then added an extra £5 even tho they took the tip from the bill. We only noticed when we looked at receipt and online banking that did not match. Rooms very dated, family rooms not big enough. Tried to sit down this morning when some rude man moved the chairs and tables. Never spoke a word to us. Turned out he wanted to clean floor but could have said to us. Noise in the middle of night was awful, people screaming. Staff definitely need to remind guests about noise level. No welcome book in hotel room. No instructions for the air-conditioning in one of the rooms. Cleaners definitely need reminded about how to clean rooms, after reading lots of reviews this needs addressed urgently. Very expensive which sadly is not worth it. Sadly we won't be back.
Nice clean hotel.
