DoubleTree by Hilton Richmond - Midlothian

Roaches! Hotel is in need of a quality upgrade. We had to move to a new room in the middle of the night because of the roaches. When I asked the manager if this has been a problem, I was told that it was not an issue. I should have read these reviews first as there is one from June 2026’stating the same issue. This is unacceptable.

I ordered room service for breakfast for two days. Each day Jeanette was who brought me my food. She has a great personality. I was feeling bad but talking to her made me forget all about it. She’s just amazing

Me and my children were taken care of by Janette and the staff of the Bistro for breakfast each morning of our stay. Wonderful conversation and loving care!!! Thank you all so much.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! We had to give them a 1 because that is as low as you can go:
We arrived June 11th, 2026 for a Handicapped Room (room 231): when we arrived the water pipes where being flushed out so I turned off the hot water and I cleaned the sink and tub. The bathroom floor was wet from the shower so I dried the floor.The next issue was the AC Unit was not working correctly. We were moved to room 334 (another handicapped room): the sink spewed water as it did not have an aerator, the commode would threaten to overflow every other flush, the water in the bath tub leaked as it took a great amount of hand strength to shut the water off, and the hand held wand wand had a large hole in the plastic so water could not travel to the nozzle. It had another shower head that was not easy to navigate.
We reported the first 3 items Thursday Night. We reported the shower wand issue on Friday. Friday afternoon we were told an engineer had been assigned and the problems corrected. None of the issues were repaired. Saturday morning I got a rating request from Doubletree and gave the hotel a 1. All of a sudden I started getting text messages asking what the issues were. I had reported the issues 4 times but repeated the list of issues a 5th time. On Saturday afternoon the aerator was put on the sink, the commode worked better but the other issues still remained and were still not repaired when we left on Monday, June 15th. I did not waste my time telling them the sink was stopped up as that would have been a waste of time.

Definitely not recently renovated as described on the site's website. Definitely NEEDS renovated. The property is run down and ragged. Certainly not what I would expect at a Doubletree. Yuck. If I hadn't been driving 12 hours and just needed to sleep before a meeting tomorrow, I would have found a better place.

Don’t get me wrong it’s a nice hotel. But being that me and my boyfriend saw 3 roaches in our room is beyond me. Being that we had to move to a whole different room in the middle of the night is unacceptable.

I had a great stay at the DoubleTree Hotel Midlothian. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff truly made the visit exceptional. The front desk team was outstanding — Vickie, Margaret, and Ms. Elise were excellent and went above and beyond by getting us checked in very early, which was greatly appreciated after traveling. Everyone at the front desk was welcoming, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was fantastic with plenty of fresh and delicious options. A special thank you to Jeanette in the Bistro, who was absolutely top notch! Her warm personality and amazing customer service made each morning enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area.

Very friendly staff, super clean. Wedding we were attending reception held here. Wonderful experience all around!!!

The hotel was nice, clean and comfortable. Loved Jeanette and her service during breakfast.! When we checked in the two ladies at the front desk were friendly, helpful and welcoming.

Staff was nice. Hotel was clean. Room was clean, one of the drawers was broken, but plenty of other room for unpacking, the pillows were amazing. The gym was nice, a lot of options for working out. The warm cookies were really yummy.

Janette at the midlo bistro was fantastic.
Great service with a smile!

Breakfast buffet was very good indeed. Set up of facilities was good. Staff were all helpful and friendly.

The hotel was located close to restaurants and shopping.

It was a full house and jam packed with tournament kids and families. Our room was on the 8th floor and blissfully quiet. Everyone was kind and helpful. At breakfast, I met Jeanette, who works the dining room and is also an elementary school teacher! Shout out to teachers for making a difference and to Jeanette for starting my morning with a smile!

Our experience was great! Jeanette and Sabrina at the breakfast buffet were amazing, they were super attentive and always made sure we had what we needed. They need a raise!!
