Excellent staff and able to assist with most queries. I wonder about Housekeeping, though. The Hotel could have been largely booked. However, when I checked in at 3:30pm, all floors still had housecarts and rooms were still being prepared for the next guest. Location was good and I don't remember much noise from the Interstate.
The hot breakfast was better than similar quality hotels. They pride themselves on their hot cinnamon rolls which were tasty. At breakfast the second day, the turkey sausage didn't look cooked completely.
Signage for the pool needs to better reflect that it's "down this hallway, through this door, and then down the outside steps." Our large group was using the breakfast area for a family get-together and there were a couple of lost guests who were in the right hallway, but turned away when they saw the large crowd. They did get directed.
Breakfast was what I expected from Holiday Inn Express which is a plus. The coffee machines delivered terrific coffee.
Area was clean and comfortable. The staff was excellent at keeping every thing clean and responsive to questions.
We stay at a Holiday Inn Express whenever we travel (if one is available). Unfortunately, our stay was less than what we have come to expect (usually a "10"). Perhaps because the weather was hot and humid, our room (421) had a strong mildew smell and was not acceptable for a person with a chronic breathing issue such as my husband has (with his Parkinson's Disease). When I ran my hand across the vents on the AC, dirt was left on my fingers. My husband almost fell off the toilet because the toilet seat was being held on by one element which secures the lid. It wasn't flushing properly either. Water was having issues draining when turning water on for the shower. I would have assumed the person cleaning the room for the next guest would have alerted maintenance to these issues. When we advised the from desk (within 20 minutes of checking in), she immediately started the search for another room. She personally checked it before offering the room and allowed us to check it ourselves. The AC in this room also had a stale smell but one we could deal with. I did receive a text from the mtce supervisor the next day asking for a time to check the AC but we had already moved (508). Both the floors in the bathroom and kitchen area were sticky (again perhaps the humidity that day (6/26/26). As I look back on my response here, we travel the Holiday Inn Express will always be our first choice. The hotel (Dent, Ohio Cincinnati West) was almost, if not full, because of an event locally. The Holiday Inn in Harrison, Ohio was our first choice (closer to our appointment on 6/27/26) but was full due to the same event. The front desk was excellent about all this. Can I add that each time, we passed the front desk
the staff member always STOOD UP and greeted us pleasantly. As busy as our stay with softball players coming and going,
the staff (front desk, housekeeping, and breakfast service) were always pleasant.
It was OK
not enough variety over a three-day stay
False web site advertising. Pool says open at 9am. Green water. Said be ready at 2pm but it was 3:30. Pool still had lots of bugs on top of water and some green on bottom. All 9 plastic lounge chairs broken.
Toilet lid seat in room broken.
No housekeeping one day. Had to call for towels and toilet paper.
Says Coffee in lobby..Just water with no cups.
Smells of pot at front entrance.
Checked in here thinking it was a good place to stay for a business trip. Instead I am now faced with a $2600 bill for repairs to my vehicle as it and 5 other vehicles were vandalized during the night. When the front desk attendant was confronted by owners of the vehicles and in front of the Police, he stated that yes for several weeks they were having vehicle break ins. Several calls and emails to the management and IHG directly have gone unanswered so we will it seems we will now have to take some legal action since they are obviously hiding this situation from patrons! SO IHG WHY NOT GET SOME SECURITY SINCE YOU ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM?
Location made it easy to get onto and off the highway from GABP
Called to see if I could check in at 1. Was told it would be 25.00 extra. Told them never mind. Got there, went in and tried to check in at 1. She told me she would like to charge me 10 dollars extra. I said whatever.
Clean and comfy and the desk clerk was delightful.
Nothing
The staff was very nice, the room was comfortable and clean and a good selection of breakfast
I would not recommend this hotel. Debbie at the front desk was super rude. The air conditioner didn’t work at arrival and it was repaired with painters tape with wires hanging out at the front, no hair dryer in the bathroom and when we called the front desk everyone just told us they are too full to do anything about getting anything “extra”. We had 2 towels in the room for a family of four and when we asked for more we were told the entire hotel had no towels. Some of our friends tried to get breakfast at 8:30 on Saturday and they were told they didn’t have anymore food. It seems that the management for this location and planning for people is not something they can do at this location.
Location
Odd layout
Friendly staff
How long the shower took to heat up.
Location is great close to highway major restaurant chains and Meijers
Hotel Fire alarm system went off, requiring us to evacuate our room at 6am, rooms not well maintained, clean but dated and no views.
I liked the new look and updates ..
Breakfast,
Online says 67 dollars and get there after I called and made sure it was that price he said yes but I didn't get that price which it was honestly aggravating..
It's false advertising too ..
