Good breakfast, nice to have omelette as a change from the usual "full English". Staff were friendly and helpful, good choice of four cask ales and a reasonably priced restaurant. We particularly valued being able to store our bikes securely overnight.
Our room was very warm, but by leaving the window wide open, switching on the fan and removing the duvet from its cover, we slept well.
Comfortable and welcoming
Breakfast was so much!
Pleased to be able to park in front of the hotel.
Quirky and interesting
Room was very warm
This is my 3rd visit to the Dragon, and every time it just gets better and better! Staff here are amazing! Maya(??) was the perfect host and server, so polite and always had a smile! But have to say a special thank you to Simon and the lady on reception (sorry I forgot your name!) Simon came over at 10pm as my towel radiator was stuck on, and it was about 30 degrees in my room in the middle of a heatwave. Moved me to another room without quibble, couldn't do enough to make my stay as comfortable as possible! Would I come here again? As many times as they would have me!
Lovely quaint cosy hotel and restaurant. Nice staff, good food :-)
Lovely old building right in the heart of the charming town of Montgomery. A warm welcome and a very decent dinner and breakfast.
OK, Montgomery is in Wales, but England was playing in the World Cup that night and the hotel was not willing to put the match on the TV in the bar. They said they needed to get the room ready for a wedding next afternoon. So, our party of four had to huddle into one of our rooms to watch on a tiny screen. Seemed a bit unreasonable in the circumstances. We’re two couples in our 60s and not hooligans!
The staff were really friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The owner Simon was extremely helpful when we had a challenge with our logistics- thanks Simon! We will definitely stay here again when walking the Offas Dyke path it’s a great location near the path.
Nothing
Such a great place to stay. I stayed here on my trek of Offa's Dyke and it was a perfect spot - very good facilities, great food and very friendly people. Couldn't ask for more - thank you.
Staff so friendly
Nothing
Breakfast was good and the location was perfect and very peaceful
It needed a new mattress on the bed and the shower was very weak flow for warm water but it was good throughout the tap it was very hot weather so a shower was needed
Great hotel with loads of character
Good central location. Friendly staff. Great breakfast and dinner. Good shower and fluffy towels.🙂
Room was up in the eaves, had to duck below a beam to get to the bathroom. Hot, but fans were provided.
The staff were polite.
Plastic glasses heating on and boiling
Well located in tiny pretty village. Very clean. Welcoming and helpful staff on reception who got our dining request sorted quickly. Friendly and pleasant atmosphere.
While very clean, the small double room was very small and the decor tired. Mattress slopes off the bed. Shower inadequate. Breakfast was disappointing and service at breakfast was very poor, possibly inexperienced staff who need training.
Efficient booking and check in. Secure bike storage available. Very helpful and friendly staff. Clean bedroom with plenty of space. Great food at a very reasonable price. Right in the middle of the town.
Room was hot (due to a hot day & night rather than defective heating) even with a window open. There was a fan, though, which helped.
