Could have been wonderful but was compromised by lack of food.
Pros:

Lovely location and beautiful old house with nice landscaped garden. Retained original features adding character and charm.a

Cons:

Chef off sick so no facility for evening meal on site and no hot food for breakfast - a very poor offering by an inexperienced member of staff. No offer of compensation for a bill that included breakfast.

A country retreat to remember
Pros:

The staff made us instantly welcome and maintained the highest standard of service throughout. The hotel is very much a pleasant immaculate country house with well kept grounds. Our dinner was excellently cooked and breakfast tasty, efficient and courteous.
A short but most enjoyable visit.

Cons:

There was an unfortunate problem of hot water failure at check in time. However guests were assured that it would be swiftly fixed and it was. So actually nothing to dislike.

Despite this we would stay again
Pros:

The shepherds hut was perfect .
Dinner in the restaurant was great and dog friendly too

Cons:

We were disappointed on the second night we weren’t allowed to eat in the dog friendly restaurant as tables had been given to walk ins despite the fact we had a reservation for 8pm confirmed that morning .

Makes you want to return.
Pros:

Superb hotel offering calm and great food. Spotless , well decorated room with a beautiful view of the garden. We ate breakfast and dined in the evening, all meals were a delight.

A cosy,luxurious stay with fabulous food.
Pros:

We were in the shepherds hut, gorgeous, so well thought through and lovely decor. The set menu was fabulous as was the breakfast. The staff were so lovely and went out of their way to make you feel at home.

Pros:

Breakfast enjoyable and provided by staff to meet my early start.

Cons:

Single EV charge point. Had booked the use of the charger but could not specify an arrival time slot. On arrival charger was in use and did not come available at a suitable time.
