Pros:

Clean with helpful staff

Cons:

Comfortable, it was unfortunate that they had building work underway . We had to wait to check out which was a bit irritating as you expect people to be checking out in the morning

Date of stay: 18/07/26 The first stay at this hotel and my last stay!
Cons:

Where do I start...….
I arrived at the venue at 11.15 am and managed to park easily enough, no issues there.
We attended for a wedding and I was informed we couldn't check-in to the room until 15.00 hrs which was fair enough.

At 15.20 hours I attended reception to request to check in. I was abruptly told 'no, you can't check in as the wedding party are about to give their speeches'.

I informed the lady who was white with black long hair that my partner was feeling slightly unwell and needed to rest for a few hours.

This fell on 'deaf ears'. I advised that if I wasn't here for the wedding function and a general guest then surely I would be allowed to check in right? as I was a paying guest and I have paid for the room from 15:00 hrs but was clearly being denied access.

I asked for the manager or a manager and I was told there were no managers about as they were all busy 'setting rooms up'?!

I informed the receptionist that my experience so far of this establishment was not one I had expected, it certainly wasn't the level of service I expected at all given the general 30 minute waiting time whilst queuing at the bar with only one staff member behind it charging £7 per pint I might add, not even reasonably priced!!

I returned to the wedding event disgruntled, sat through all the speeches which nobody could hear at the rear of the room as no microphone was provided.
I have no idea what was even said!!

After about an hour or so I returned to reception to re-attempt a check-in to the room. The same receptionist was behind the desk.

A manager wearing a pink shirt was hovering in the corridor-I asked to speak with her-she told me she was too busy 'sorting out the bride and groom'.
I asked for another manager, I was told I was going to have to wait.

Finally, I was being checked-in! But wait!! The receptionist then made told me I had to pay £30 (£15 pp) for breakfast on top of my pre-paid room.

Cons:

I paid a £25 holding fee for the room and never got it back! The lady at the front desk said it was all sorted and it never got paid back in my account.

Disappointing
Pros:

The location was lovely as was the grounds.

Cons:

The hotel was very worn and tired, also very basic. It was extremely hot with no air con. Advised there was a fan in the room, but I think they were bought in a job lot from Temu as I couldn’t feel any air coming out of it. The reviews for food were terrible with the use of the word “Dire” being used many times, so I decided to cancel dinner and breakfast and find an alternative.
I could not shut the bathroom door when using the loo as it was like an oven, meaning the door just hit my knees constantly while taking a pee. Would never entertain staying there again. Such a shame as I was l looking forward to a night away on my own before meeting up with friends.

Pros:

Generally Comfortable and quiet room

Cons:

No air conditioning in the bedroom - it was hot when we visited so this was noticeable.
Breakfast was ok but ran out of some items (it was a busy Sunday morning, but had undercatered for the number of pastries for example).
