We had a wonderful stay at The Covenanter during the first part of our Scotland holiday and couldn't have chosen a better base for exploring Fife.
The hotel is located in the heart of the beautiful village of Falkland, which is peaceful, charming and almost magical. Fans of Outlander will especially love staying here, as the village was used as 1940s Inverness in the series. Walking around the village in the evening after the day visitors had gone home and early in the morning was a real highlight of our trip.
Our room was quiet, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Housekeeping did an excellent job every day, so it was always lovely to return after a full day of sightseeing.
The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay and always happy to help.
Breakfast each morning was very good and set us up perfectly for a day of exploring. Having the hotel's restaurant on site was also incredibly convenient. After long days sightseeing, it was nice to simply relax and enjoy a delicious evening meal without having to drive elsewhere. We ate there every evening and also enjoyed sampling some excellent beer, cider and whisky.
Parking was never an issue. There is plenty of free street parking nearby, which made arriving and leaving completely stress-free.
The Covenanter was the perfect base for visiting many of Fife's attractions, including Culross, Linlithgow Palace, Midhope Castle (Lallybroch), Blackness Castle and even Doune Castle.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay and wouldn't hesitate to return. We would happily recommend The Covenanter to anyone looking for a comfortable, welcoming hotel in one of Scotland's most beautiful villages.
The only minor downside was having to carry our two large suitcases up the stairs to our room. However, given that The Covenanter is such a beautiful historic building, this is completely understandable and did not detract from our overall stay.
The staff are fabulous, particularly Declan and Quinn. The food is really good. The location right in the centre of Falkland is great. We always feel incredibly relaxed and comfortable when we stay there.
Molt bon esmorzar, bon Bed and Breakfast per visitar la zona. Habitacio moderna i neta.
Location is famous, but the staff was down to earth and welcoming. Food was fantastic. Rooms are unique and a great experience.
Cozy room and just as described. Views just like the TV show it is famous for. Comfortable and clean. Staff was kind and helpful at the reception, restaurant and bar!
Fairly tight even for two, but still pleasant.
At £150 a night a bit to much £100 would be about right for what was on offer
