Just okay
Pros:

The food was good.
The ensuite shower was excellent.

Cons:

The room was average, the windows would not properly close and rain water came in and stood on the window sills. The walls were cracked, the paintwork was poor and needed renovation work and then painting. Overall needed some love and money spending on it.

Beautiful historic hotel, lovely service and incredible food!
Pros:

Beautiful building! The staff were so welcoming and the breakfast was beautiful! Definitely worth the money!

Cons:

Could do with a bit more tlc, I know it’s an old building which is why it’s a bit expected, but there was damp around the window and a crack down the wall.. but that didn’t impact our stay at all! We loved it and will be back 100%!!

Nothing Great with The Great House Hotel
Pros:

The only good thing was the helpful staff who arranged a suitable dinner for me on arrival.

Cons:

The room did not match what is advertised. It was old, shabby, poorly maintained and the carpet was so worn I would not walk barefoot on it. The bath was marked and mould on screen, shower attachment had no power and not adjustable. Panel was coming of cistern. Dirty vent. No lamp shade on ceiling light. Bedside light not plugged in as no socket in reach, curtain not hung fully and bed so old could feel springs in mattress.

Room was fab area good but please provide a calculator or just a little more training for staff in future
Pros:

The lights and especially the mirrored ceiling

Cons:

The squeaky door and was quite surprised when I ordered only two drinks and the barmaid started adding up the bill with her fingers which was only resolved when I had to use my phone as a calculator for her but everyone was still very friendly

Das Guesthouse hat ein charmantes Äußeres! Das Personal ist freundlich und bemüht. Das Frühstück war gut.

Cons:

Es herrscht eine gewisse Oberflächlichkeit. Angemerkte Reparaturen, die offensichtlich auch durch Vornutzer angesprochen wurden, sind nach mehr als 3 Monatrn immer noch nicht erfolgt! Sauberkeit des Garden Houses lies Wünsche offen.
Der Müllplatz war unordentlich!

Pros:

Atmosphere , bar and lounge buzzing. Breakfast very good and served to table.
Shower excellent.

Upon arrival all seems fine. Beautiful grade Il listed building. Through the bar area the theme is much the same, lots of character and friendly reception staff.
All changes when you step foot into your cheap and nasty hotel room which feels like you've arrived at another hotel! Besides the decor, the room was dirty, with several holes in the walls and on the floor, cracked mirrors, leaking shower, broken bed and a toilet on the verge of coming away from the wall! We were intending on having breakfast, but after reading other reviews on here, and based on the standard of the room we decided against it.
Overall very disappointed with this hotel, and would recommend others take heed before booking!
