The proximity to Asilomar Beach and the quiet setting were wonderful.

Cons:

Definitely plenty of deferred maintenance that really should be addressed by the owner/management if they would like repeat business from travelers.

Location is great, but the condition of the rooms is terrible.
Pros:

The location is great. Walking distance to Asilomar Beach.

Cons:

Extremely disappointed with the condition of the rooms having stayed here in the past. Same room, but the spa didn't work, and a main door was falling off its hinges. No TV in the extra room (there was one last time). Also, they used to have breakfast offered and a BBQ on the premise. Lots of deferred maintenance.

My late arrival and the hotel’s early checkout (10:00 am) meant that I spent little time in the room.
Pros:

There was coffee in the room. There was also a microwave and a fridge.

Cons:

I could not find a heater, nor a control for one. The shower handle was semi broken. There was lots of play in the handle which made it difficult to adjust.

The bed was comfortable only way it gets 2 stars. Peeling wallpaper, fireplace didn’t work, trim scuffed and only 2 towels.

Perfect for attending a meeting at Asilomar
Pros:

The hotel is perfectly located for attending a conference in the Asilomar Conference Ground. The room was huge with a fire place and Jacuzzi. The bed was very comfy.

Cons:

The facility is not the newest, the cleanliness might get better, many small things are not functioning, but these are generally minor things. It would be good to have more electric sockets near the bed but again, these are small issues. The hotel is generally good.

Nice Place but Needs a Remodel
Pros:

The area was very nice. The young man at the front desk was great.

Cons:

The carpet was stained and dirty. The room smelled a little moldy. There were stains in the tub and on the couch and carpets. The sofa, you can feel the springs. It's not even usable.

Cons:

The room was dirty and gross: there was a dirty glass and food in the “kitchenette” sink; the wallpaper was curling over the fireplace; there was duct-tape holding the edge of the rug down; the floor lamp was rickety; the two chairs were grossly stained and worn; the valances and bed skirt had rips and filth on them; the bathroom had rotten baseboards and molding with large gaps; the “jacuzzi” had dark stains and the grout was missing and/or moldy in places; the bed was swaybacked and sad; the pillows lumpy; the window in the bathroom had a broken latch - once it was open it could not be closed; the room windows had screens that allowed mosquitos and other insects into the room - I did not stay and the have not responded to my request for a refund.
