Great Hotel in a superb location.
Pros:

The hotel wasn''t far from the Railway Station and there was plenty of free parking nearby. The staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble.
The room was excellent with a four poster bed and a balcony. The price of the food and drinks were reasonably priced with the restaurant staff very attentive.

Good place for an overnight stay
Pros:

Was exactly what we were looking for as a quick overnight stay.

Cons:

Did t like the fact there was an issue with the kitchen, didn’t get any notification of this issue in advance of arrival. Had we known there was an issue with the kitchen in advance then we could have planned dinner with more time.

Very disappointing and not to be repeated. Major refurbishment and attitude overhaul required.
Pros:

The location was what we needed at the time, not being too familiar with the area

Cons:

The only member of staff we met was at the reception. There was very serious traffic disruption in the area and we were stationary on the motorway slip road for over an hour. Initially we could not get through to the hotel by phone but when we could, after having been travelling for 6/7 hours, it was clear the reception knew all about the problem and we asked about food to be told the kitchen would close at 8.15pm. This was about 7.30 and we were still stationary with no idea of how long we might be there.
When we arrived, eventually, at 9.00ish, there was no parking, and when I enquired about the best place to park, I was told “I’ve told your husband”. Grr!
The place is clean but very sad, in need of considerable refurbishment. After going through a badly painted, hardboard flushed door complete with unused door locks, bedroom door, I was relieved to find that we were not to be housed in a caretakers cupboard. Indeed, the room was spacious and recently decorated in a sort of African inspired colour scheme but was a jumble of furniture including two clear plastic, throne-like moulded chairs. The bedside lights did not work.
The shower room looked new, clean, and there was plenty of hot water. But nothing was finished off properly. The single mixer tap to the vanity basin was loose, the extractor fan sounded like an aeroplane landing and the full container of shampoo/body wash in the very generously sized shower was impossible to use - probably why it was still full.
The bedding and towels were spotlessly clean and the tea/coffee biscuits etc were good and varied.
In case you are wondering, we asked where we might get some supper nearby, we were told, very unhelpfully, that there were two take always up the road of we could go on-line as there were other take-always that might deliver to the hotel and she would get us some plates.
