Comfortable bed. Large room. Adequate bathroom. Well located for hills and town. Free parking.
Decor was a bit tatty. Windows old and needing attention. Breakfast OK (although somewhat overcooked). Chairs in dining room stained and dirty. Some staff (by no means all) rather robotic and nervous. Asked for peppermint tea on two occasions, but were given green tea - not sure whether they had peppermint. Had to ask for more tea and sugar. All little details that made the stay not quite as perfect as we were expecting.

The cooked breakfast was fine but they need to invest in new toasters! The staff were pleasant and helpful but they are working in difficult conditions.
The hotel is in need of investment the carpets are worn the furnishings are cheap tired and tasteless the pillows like bricks. The shower rooms were grotty and the shower was useless

The room was very clean and comfortable. The food well the breakfast was superb with plenty of choice. The restaurant evening meals were brilliant and again the menu choice was brilliant.
In all honesty nothing at all The Mount Pleasant was everything that I needed for my stay 100% first class and well pleased with everything

Did not find receptionist very welcoming. Small double bed so not a very comfortable sleep for two people. A notice explaining a £50 fine if any of your own food or drink was brought into the property. Poor continental breakfast though a food full breakfast was available. Did not find the hotel very welcoming or comfortable for the price I paid.
The staff behind the bar and the table service bringing our food to the table went above and beyond especially during the evening of September 6th, we were very well looked after excellent friendly service which made our experience as a group of 13 dining with you extremely pleasurable. Also compliments to the chef
