The location was ideal and the reason we booked here.
The room was so small that it was impossible to open a suitcase in the room unless it was on top of the bed. The bathroom was so small and there was no sink inside the bathroom. The bathroom sink was beside the bed and there was no bedside table on that side. The rooms are not soundproof at all so expect to be woken up all night.
Cute historic hotel, great location, no real beach access during our stay, expensive for this property, nice staff, good coffee in the morning. 100 year hotel with charm, excellent location in a cool old Hawaiian town
It was cute and nice people but expensive even for Hawaii especially without and direct beach accessibility
Right in the middle of town - easy walking access to shops and restaurants. Cozy common areas spread throughout the hotel. Loungers in the back (on grass) near the beach. Room was spacious and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Partygoers from the nightclub next door were loud after the club closed on a Friday night (quiet on a Saturday night and on a Sunday night). Although the property is a beach-front property, you don’t really actually see the beach from the property unless you look over a set of bushes. The loungers in the back of the property are on grass and not sand.

The location was everything. I loved the back garden overlooking the ocean. As a solo traveler I felt safe and comfortable.
It just felt like it had seen better days. The Wi-Fi went out for almost 2 days. It was sad to see their cafe not in business. And for what I paid to stay, I did not feel like it was worth the money.
The room was charming and the adjacent beach was incredible.
Quaint property, very much like an B&B. vibes I did like how cute it was and unique to other modern resort like places. Small, intimate and unique for sure. It was a good place to stay for a night while in Pa’ai. Central and right next to everything you need. Also the AC was full blast and fantastic and the coffee lobby outside the room was a nice touch.
Felt like a bit of false advertising when comparing to the hotels descriptions. The bar and restaurant on property was not “functioning” at the moment. It looked like it hadn’t been for a minute. The beach access was… well not at all. It was closed off due to erosion from other storms, which is fine. But when booking that’s absolutely not what was described so definitely lead to some disappointment.
The fun and funky room was very good for us. It met our needs, close to our family and convenient to stores and restaurants
The outdoor areas were not as pictured and have not been well maintained
It is a 100 year structure made into a hotel so is funky, fun and adorable. If one needs every modern amenity, this will probably not work.
Paia Inn was wonderful! We loved our stay here. It was a last minute stay added to the end of our trip and we couldn’t be happier with it. Now we plan to go back here intentionally, we loved it so much!
Great location, some staff were very kind.
Super neat to have direct access to the beach (even though steps have been completely washed out by the so you need to be fit to climb down to the beach)
Some nice common parts and lovely view from the top of the hotel towards the volcanoes.
Clean rooms.
Mattress was very saggy and sloped heavily towards the edges. Outdoor area worn out (where there used to be a lovely cafe before).
Manager not particularly helpful. Said we were upgraded when we got there and gave us the 2 smallest room giving onto the loud street even though the hotel was at least 50pct empty.
At checkout, she didn’t want to keep our luggage in store for 3 nights and we had to insist for her to keep them. (Hotel mostly empty once again so plenty of room to keep things)

Wir bezahlten ca. 700 Dollar/Nacht für ein einfacheres Zimmer, direkt an der vielbefahrenen Strasse. Die Fotos suggerierten ein Zimmer mit Meerblick!
Dazu kam noch eine Fee von 100 Dollar für 3 Nächte.
The bed was very comfortable and once we changed rooms, the air conditioning was good and everything else was lovely
When we arrived late in the day, we were giving a room that was really three small rooms chopped up. The sink was not in the bathroom. The shower leaked water as the shower curtain was not long enough for the shower area. We did not sleep well because of the noise of the street and the light coming in from the shops there were no blackout curtains. However, once we requested a room change the next morning everything was much much better.
