We really loved this hotel. I would put it on par with another favourite hotel of ours which is the one & only in Mauritius- this however is a cheaper option but the standard is equally great.
We had a few hiccups but the hotel dealt with everything so swiftly and professionally (for example, we lost power due to a storm and we were really impressed by the way they dealt with it).
The pools are top class. The food at seafire salt really impressed us, the half board allows you to have fillet steak every night if you wish and the standard of the food is very high. We spoke with the head chef, Iain, on numerous occasions and he’s clearly a very experienced chef (including ex-Gleneagles) - it shows in his food. After eating buratta and steak and chocolate fondant on repeat I’ve come home considerably heavier but very happy !!
If you’re unsure about rooms I recommend the beach villas, they’re very modern and luxurious. The kids club is also very new with friendly staff and a good array of toys and activities. Our kids really loved it. We have travelled widely and we really highly rated this holiday experience. Can’t wait to visit again someday. Thanks to the team at Anantara Mai Khao for creating a really memorable holiday for us.

Wonderful staycation experience, JU is very friendly and always give us warmest advice! The room is very spacious with a big pool; restaurants here are also nice, strongly recommend Treehouse (Japanese) and the La Sala (Thai and Indian) restaurants. The hotel is also pet friendly;)
We had an absolutely fantastic stay at Anantara Mai Khao. The resort is beautiful, but what truly made our trip unforgettable was the service. A huge and special thank you to Ju! Ju was incredibly attentive and welcoming throughout our entire stay. From check-in to check-out, every little detail was taken care of with a warm smile. Ju made us feel truly at home and stress-free. Highly recommend this resort!
We spent a wonderful three days celebrating our wedding anniversary in a pool villa at Anantara in Phuket, and the experience truly exceeded our expectations, and everybody made us feel very special. From the moment we arrived and were welcomed by our host, Nina, the level of hospitality was exceptional. The setting is stunning, the lush gardens feel like a botanical garden, beautifully maintained and more impressive than many we have seen around the world. The sense of privacy and tranquility at our villa throughout the property made it easy to fully relax. We also booked a spa package and spent about four hours there, which was one of the best spa experiences we’ve ever had. Our therapists, Oil and Catchy took excellent care of us, and we left feeling completely rejuvenated. Overall, it was an outstanding stay, and we would gladly return.
Quite isolated hotel.
Only a few restaurants- so if thinking of a longer stay you may want to reconsider.
No management presence- no effort was made to meet guests when we stayed there.
There wasn’t much extra activity when we stayed apart from a tasting menu when we arrived. The next advert was for 2 weeks after that which seems a bit long.
Villas are gorgeous.

The Japanese Red was the highlight.
Also the small bar underneath. The bar girl was lovely.
We stayed about 5 nights - enough as we were getting bored with the restaurant choices.

I had a wonderful experience here. The staff were all very kind and welcoming, from check-in to every area of the hotel. Special thanks to Khun Arm at the fitness center, and Khun Ninki and Khun Summa from the breakfast team, for taking such great care of me. They truly made my stay memorable.

The atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were very friendly. Nidnoi and Farda gave great service. The food and drinks at the Infinity Bar were excellent—highly recommended!

A high end and lovely experience. The location is a true gem and offers a beautiful setting. The front desk crew were amazing and very helpful in directing us to the nice areas and restaurtants to visit and arranged the reservations and transport.
They took us for a tour of the resort to see where the White Lotus was filmed (Wife's favourite). Service is top notch in all the areas from the resturants to the bed service at the beach and pool.
A true gem of a location and service
From the moment we arrived to the time we left our experience here has been second to none. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is absolutely first class.
Sunma and team in the restaurant were just wonderful and perfect. We adore Sunma who always made our day a little more special. I mustn’t forget Petch who was also charming, in fact everyone we came across here, even down to the gardeners, were just so lovely.
The hotel villas were great as were the surrounding grounds. Just loved it here.
We had very good experience and nice vacations. Minnie from the reception team was very helpful to solve our needs and provide the best service to us. We rate the quality of a hotel in terms of food, service facilities quality is very good and worth its money.
Fabulous stay, staff were most welcoming. In particular Ju, who was most helpful throughout our stay and when we needed to unexpectedly extend our stay due to the Middle East conflict. She ensured that we had a great experience throughout.

As someone from Delhi craving a true tropical escape, our stay at Anantara Phuket Mai Khao was nothing short of magical!
The serene beachfront, with its powdery white sand and turquoise sea views, felt like stepping into a postcard. The resort’s elegant Thai-inspired design, lush gardens, and private pool villas (or suites) offered the perfect blend of privacy and indulgence—we loved our spacious room with the outdoor pool, soaking tub, and those thoughtful touches like fresh fruit and sweets and amazing amenities.
The infinity pool was a highlight, the spa treatments were rejuvenating, and the dining options and the bubbly breakfast spread were delicious and varied. Everything felt luxurious yet relaxed, ideal for unwinding after a busy year.
What truly elevated our experience was the exceptional service, particularly from Mr. Sunny. He was incredibly warm, attentive, and went out of his way to make our stay special—whether helping with restaurant reservations, suggesting beach spots, night markets, arranging a transportation, or just checking in with genuine smiles and care.
