Have stayed here before , a lovely hotel in a great location overlooking the river , just sit and relax and watch the boats go by . The food is amazing from breakfast to evening meal .the staff are all very friendly and made you feel welcome from booking in , and are always there with a smile and friendly face, and if you want to ask them something .The room (2) was nice and comfortable overlooking the car park to the side of the hotel , and the flower borders you do have deliveries early morning so can be noisy , but didn't bother us. The bed was comfortable quite a soft mattress which we are not used to but slept ok. Also plenty of parking on site Would definitely stay again .
The noise from deliveries early in the morning could bother some people , but ok with us .
Breakfast was big and very tasty, the staff were amazing and the view from the terrace was so lovely for afternoon or evening drinks.
The hotel didn't acknowledge our 30th wedding anniversary at all, even though we informed them when booking, thought that was a little poor of them.
We were in room 11 which is in the eves and is very cramped and doesn't have a lot of head space. It was very hot in the room with only a fan and wasn't even that hot outside.
The bathroom had a bath with a shower in it and that leaked onto the floor everytime
nice menu and the food was great
no lift
Great location in the river close to town centre… good parking, excellent Bar & Restaurant on the river.
No negative issues.
It’s a lovely hotel, on the border of the canal. Staff was attentive and friendly. Great breakfast.
We visited in the summer and had a room at the last floor. At night, it was very hot even when the temperature outside was mild, and the curtains could not really block the sunlight. There is no elevator. These are not major issues, but I guess the price of the room raised our expectations about comfort.
Sticky dining tables.
The setting is beautiful the staff was amazing the food was very good 👍
Very warm while having dinner and breakfast could do with air-conditioning
Central
Single room is similar price to double but was small with no view and small shower.
Lovely location and friendly staff
It would have been nice to have had fresh croissants for breakfast. Not enough dinner choices in the evening as we were hoping for steak or nice meat pie etc. Might have been more choices on other nights. We ate out on the second night.
Everything
Great location by riverside and within short walking distance to town centre and its amenities.
Good quality evening meal.
Plenty of storage space in room.
Bed was softer than we would have liked.
Our preference is always for a walk-in shower but understand that the age of the hotel probably precludes this.
Pretty location by the river with terrace to enjoy evening drinks in the setting sun. Ate a lovely evening meal. Staff mostly helpful.
En-suite only had hand held shower in bath so you had to kneel or crouch in bath to shower. At breakfast muffin inedible as it was served whole not split and toasted, with egg etc piled on top.
