FABULOUS. beautiful location. lovely hotel and staff. excellent food
Excellent location with ample parking and easy 5 minutes walk to the centre of Beccles. Situated beside the river it has lovely views in all directions. Staff were really nice and attentive, especially in the restaurant where the breakfast was just right.

A lovely friendly hotel. The highlights were the friendly staff, its central location and the terrace by the river.
Great location to explore Beccles and other areas. Next to the river so really pleasant outlook. Twin Room in the eaves, very spacious and clean. Staff helpful. Quiet. Lovely lunch and drinks on the terrace for sunset and nibbles.
No water in the room which when it was hot I expected. Easily resolved as went to the bar and got an iced jug, but would have been a nice touch. No shower screen or curtain, little odd!
We have returned three times the hotel is lovely and the position on the river an added bonus. The rooms are large and comfortable and the food very good.
This was a last minute booking on the day I stayed, while on a washed out cycle camping tour, so I had no expectations, it was about availability. That said the available room was a lovely big room, light and airy although overlooking the car park rather than the river. The restaurant was good, again light, airy and overlooking the river. It was busy, buzzing indeed although clientele were somewhat elderly so it quietened down early!
Nothing given the last minute booking. There was one incredibly loud lady customer in the restaurant which became quite intrusive but that is not the hotels fault, she was just lacking self awareness!

Riverside setting and food were excellent.
Needs an update. Staff also a bit scruffy - bar had really dirty nails which was off putting!
Lovely country hotel, beautiful room with comfy bed. Staff were friendly and helpful. Terrace by the river was great for an evening drink and to watch the wildlife etc.
Wouldn't recommend staying here in a heatwave (as we did) as there is no aircon and some of the rooms are in the roof space. Otherwise we liked everything.

We have been before but this time we were quite disappointed with the menu it has changed since we last came and am afraid we only ate there one night apart from the price has risen a lot there wasn't much to our taste which was a shame
