Used the pool every day. Lovely gardens. Staff friendly and helpful. Was able to have continental breakfast rather than cooked breakfast. Really lovely stay and would recommend it to friends and family

The staff were excellent, meals amazing, the owner was a wizard- able to cook, serve and clear up all on his own. Lovely private room and terrace. Gardens and wildlife great.
The hot water pressure in the sink was poor and the bed rather lumpy
Food was excellent. We chose to eat out more often as we wanted to try local pubs, restaurants and cafes, this was no reflection on the quality of food or service.
The room was idyllic and loved the outside courtyard and all the grounds to the hotel.
Our host (the owner) was very friendly, helpful and offered advice regarding locations in the area.
We would definitely recommend and return should the occasion arise.
I was surprised at the amount of stairs and number of levels. I still was able to manage them, but if I had been in a wheelchair the hotel would not have been suitable. Unless I have missed it, this did not seem apparent on the website?
We had one of the rooms that had a private outside area with table and chairs which was lovely. All the staff we great and it was in a great location for the places we wanted to visit. The pool was lovely and clean too.

We had a relaxing time here, and the women at reception were really nice and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable, and the pool waa great.
This trip was for a birthday celebration, and although we didn't stay for dinner, I was a bit disappointed that no small gesture or acknowledgment was made for the occasion.
While the property as a whole is clearly well-maintained, some of the more modern signs and art prints felt really out of place with the beautiful history and surroundings, they just weren't necessary and felt cluttered. .Our room was quite small, dark and felt a bit cramped. There really wasn’t enough space for two adults to stay comfortably for more than a couple of nights. The bathroom was also disappointing and is in need of an update, specifically due to the tiny sink and the plastic shower shelf. It didn't feel luxurious at all.
While the pool itself was great, the heated towel rail in the area didn't work. This meant we had two days of completely wet swimwear and bath mat, as there was nowhere else to dry them off. Lastly, breakfast was a mixed bag. There was a varied selection, but at just under £20 per person it doesn't offer good value for money unless you are ordering a full cooked breakfast and taking full advantage of it. The avocado served with the poached eggs was unfortunately quite soggy. All that said, it's a lovely place with great potential, but a few updates and attention to detail would go a long way.
