Excellent Hotel, would stay again. Large room with good facilities. Excellent breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay
Only small criticism was pillows were slightly hard for my preference
Food was excellent and location suited us perfectly being just a short walk to town centre and yet easy to get out of town for excursions.
Rooms slightly noisy at times.
Very comfortable room and bed. Good shower and fluffy towels. Good breakfast including the delicious Stornoway black pudding
Room was a bit hot and couldn’t see how to adjust the temperature
Following a cool, lacklustre welcome, I found my room comfortable, clean and quiet. The public areas were very pleasant and the waiting staff were delightful. The food wasn't as good as on previous stays although the scrambled eggs at breakfast were really delicious. This hotel is THE place to stay in Stornoway. Just try being a bit more welcoming.
This hotel, on its website, claims to be "a four-star haven of comfort and style" and during my stay was apparently very busy. But it was actually so quiet and peaceful (car park practically empty, dining room pretty much same, breakfast - only two other couples). Suited me perfectly!
The decor is a little tired and dated as was my single room but it has a slight up market feel, is clean and comfortable with well appointed rooms and bathrooms. My room had a Nespresso coffeemaker which was a nice addition I enjoyed. Being on the top floor at the end of the corridor and at the back meant it was quiet enough for me (as a light sleeper). Despite the view of the building tip out of the window (see photo), I was happy with it. The floorboards did squeak as I moved around and I wonder if rooms below would have been so quiet.
I did find the room a bit hot despite it being cool outside that I had to open the window AND strip off (thus having to close the heavy blackout type curtains and turn the lights on in the middle of the day). Other reviews mention hot rooms and management ought to take this more seriously - despite the geographic location!
The breakfast selection is brilliant and of a decent quality (plus I asked for "strong" coffee - and that is hat I got - thank you) but the main drawback is that the cooked breakfast is COLD. I love a cooked breakfast and this spoiled it for me. It's a buffet so you can help yourself to as much as you like but the food is just lukewarm and once put onto cold plates it cools down rapidly. My breakfast was stone cold by the time I was eating my final forkfuls. Real disappointment and prevents the fifth star. Please invest in a platewarmer and up the temperature of the cooked breakfast "hot plate" containers.

First time staying in the hotel. First impressions were good - nice open and relaxed reception area. Checking in was very easy and friendly staff. Room was good, Nespresso machine and lovely Stornoway shortbread waiting for me. Room was spotless (as was the rest of the hotel). It was a bit farther out of the centre of the town than I realised (about 15 minute walk) but the flip side of that was the area was nice an quiet and very close to golf course, gardens for a nice evening walk.
Breakfast was very good – I had the Eggs Stornoway (local take on eggs benedict)! There were also a hot buffet and continental selection. Had an early start on check out day but the continental choice was available from 05:00 so was able to eat before leaving.
I would definitely stay again.

The hotel was modern, attractive and spotlessly clean. The location was very convenient for the ferry to the mainland. The food was very good and the staff were friendly.
Nothing!
Room clean, and comfortable enough. Hotel staff on the whole were very attentive and helpful. Location is a little way out of town which we liked.
We paid top dollar for our five night stay (literally double what we'd pay for a quality four star hotel in England), expecting something great. Basically, we got a Travelodge with breakfast. And we didn't always get the breakfast. On our last morning at the hotel, we placed our breakfast order with the waitress at 09.00. When it came round to 09.45 and the food had still not arrived, I asked the waitress (who had watched us waiting for forty-five minutes) if there was a problem with the order. She said "Oh... did you order something?" She hadn't given our order to the chef. And we had seen the same thing happen to another couple earlier in the week.
This hotel seems geared up mainly to accommodate organised coach parties, and maybe people travelling on business at their employer's expense. For the money we paid, it falls far short of expectations.
Ligging oké, vriendelijk personeel.
We hadden een splinternieuwe kamer, fijn groot bed, fijne douche.
Alleen het was er bloedheet en konden geen verwarming uitzetten.
Bloedhete kamer
Eten in restaurant was middelmatig en overpriced
Friendly staff and clean , fresh surroundings.
I felt the mattresses on the bed in room 101 were either old or too soft, not sure which but very uncomfortable to sleep on. My room was otherwise immaculate.
Attended a Ceilidh and meal and was disappointed to see paper napkins…maybe something to consider for the future. The meal was delicious
Always piping hot water. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast had an excellent choice, Portions for dinner were usually appropriate and pleasant.
The dialy catch offered at dinner was often the same. The soup was certainly the same on a few nights consecutively, suggesting that there was quite a lot which had not been used.
I was a bit disappointed with the very large size of chips which came with the fried haddock ans small potion of peas.
It was a modern facility.
Beds were concave mattresses, for the price paid I expected a flat comfortable bed.
Gute Lage, grosse Zimmer, modern
Sehr nettes Personal. Zimmer geräumig und Lage zur Bushaltestelle und Supermarkt top.
