Room clean, and comfortable enough. Hotel staff on the whole were very attentive and helpful. Location is a little way out of town which we liked.
We paid top dollar for our five night stay (literally double what we'd pay for a quality four star hotel in England), expecting something great. Basically, we got a Travelodge with breakfast. And we didn't always get the breakfast. On our last morning at the hotel, we placed our breakfast order with the waitress at 09.00. When it came round to 09.45 and the food had still not arrived, I asked the waitress (who had watched us waiting for forty-five minutes) if there was a problem with the order. She said "Oh... did you order something?" She hadn't given our order to the chef. And we had seen the same thing happen to another couple earlier in the week.
This hotel seems geared up mainly to accommodate organised coach parties, and maybe people travelling on business at their employer's expense. For the money we paid, it falls far short of expectations.
Ligging oké, vriendelijk personeel.
We hadden een splinternieuwe kamer, fijn groot bed, fijne douche.
Alleen het was er bloedheet en konden geen verwarming uitzetten.
Bloedhete kamer
Eten in restaurant was middelmatig en overpriced
Friendly staff and clean , fresh surroundings.
I felt the mattresses on the bed in room 101 were either old or too soft, not sure which but very uncomfortable to sleep on. My room was otherwise immaculate.
Attended a Ceilidh and meal and was disappointed to see paper napkins…maybe something to consider for the future. The meal was delicious
Always piping hot water. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast had an excellent choice, Portions for dinner were usually appropriate and pleasant.
The dialy catch offered at dinner was often the same. The soup was certainly the same on a few nights consecutively, suggesting that there was quite a lot which had not been used.
I was a bit disappointed with the very large size of chips which came with the fried haddock ans small potion of peas.
It was a modern facility.
Beds were concave mattresses, for the price paid I expected a flat comfortable bed.
Gute Lage, grosse Zimmer, modern
Sehr nettes Personal. Zimmer geräumig und Lage zur Bushaltestelle und Supermarkt top.
As it is said to be a 4 star hotel and offering continental breakfast and due to the price of 272 Pounds/Night we were expecting a really comfortable and clean room and a good breakfast as well. Unfortunately what we had was something total different. A room with an mattress on our bed that have seen surely a lot of nights and guests before, a window full with birds excrements on it and furniture without any remarkable standard. Sorry, Cabarfeidh, but in Edinburgh in the centre of the city you get much better place like Apex or Motel One for a much better price (150-200/night) and for us the really beautiness of your island is not an excuse for that ! And concerning the continental breakfast: There was no cold meat platters, no cheese, no bread offered even though your menue said so e.g. "Cold meat platters". And as we asked your stuff due to the menue they said "Sorry Sir, we do not offer this here". If you don´t know how a continental breakfast should be e.g. ask at Motel One they sure can tell you how to do it. So and that is one of the reason for our bad comment: We are still really angry about the price that we paid to you for what we had received for that. What had to go to the nearby CO-OP supermarket and spent quite a lot money there in order to get a proper breakfast for 3 days even though we had pay you before for that. And in addition I had asked you before our stay for continental breakfast per email and you had confirmed having this, but sorry, some Corn-Flakes and fruit only are not making a continental breakfast at all and especially not for a price of 272 pounds per night.
Excellent location in easy reach of the centre of Stornoway. Room was clean but hot! Despite switching off radiators and opening the window as far as the restrictor allowed it remained warm. A kettle on the welcome tray rather than a Nespresso machine would have been an improvement - it didn’t always work well and only supplied small cups of tea or coffee. Staff were welcoming and efficient. Food was good and there was plenty of choice.
I enjoyed my stay. The hotel is modern. Parking is ample. It's conveniently located - walking distance to town and the castle. My room was a bit small and the sound insulation is not great - i could hear everything my neighbours were doing.
The staff are great. Super helpful, always positive and willing to answer all questions. They made me feel really welcome. Please note that they have building works in some of the rooms so it can get noisy during the day.
It’s a nice hotel but there are some issues.
Room - Beautiful, well appointed, obviously recently renovated. Should have added air conditioning as it was very warm. Unfortunately, the room I was in was above and to the side of the kitchens. The fans were still on when I went to bed and started again around 5 in the morning. This resulted in a poor nights sleep.
Bathroom - The door is far too narrow. Bathroom bin had not been emptied.
Restaurant - Evening Meal was delicious. Breakfast was poor.
All staff I met were very pleasant and helpful.
We had a lovely stay. We were fortunate to be in a newly refurbished room which was done to a high standard. Our friends were in an accessible room which has not yet been refurbished but it was fine and fully met the needs of a wheelchair user, roll in shower etc.
The staff were lovely. Our breakfast waitress ensured our particular dietary requirements were met (coeliac disease) and the manager was lovely and had a genuine interest in his guests and was very knowledgeable about the area and available activities.
The food in the restaurant was very tasty and beatifully presented.
We hope to visit Lewis and Harris again and will definitely stay at the Cabarfeidh Hotel when we do.
I had an unplanned two nights at the Cabarfeidh due to ferry cancellations and everything about my stay was lovely! Really nice room with the comfiest bed! The hotel staff are friendly and helpful and rooms are spotlessly clean. I treated myself to room service both evenings . The food was excellent, perfectly cooked and plenty of it . Compliments to the chef !
I will definitely stay here again at some point. Parking is easy, plenty of space available.Thank you all 😃
