Hotel was clean and comfortable.
Staff were lovely.
Breakfast was great.
Nothing
Characterful, open, relaxed, garden, terrace
Rooms were great, lovely period property
Not necessarily “didn’t like” but there’s nowhere else to make the feedback- just some notes for review:
- the menu on the website is out of date
- there are two post codes for the property on line which confuses the satnav.
Zeer mooi ingerichte kamers, vriendelijk personeel.
The hotel has a warm and welcoming feel about it. The staff are friendly and polite. I love the atmosphere and the building itself. It’s like stepping back in time. Our bedroom was a beautiful surprise and we loved our four poster bed. The breakfast was fabulous 🤩We will definitely return for a longer visit.
Nothing really, just wished the shower was stronger and the extraction fan didn’t seem to work in the bathroom. Other than that, no complaints.
10/10 for location, room, dinner, breakfast, comfortable bed, spacious parking, lovely staff & decor of the rooms. Thank you, thank you - we will be back! Ideal hotel in ideal location close to other pubs and restaurants if you wanted wonder around.
you're perfect as you are
Very nice, lovely village.
Beautiful quaint hotel. Great food and services.
Charming property that has genuine style.
Staff seemed a little overwhelmed at times.
Quality of produce and choice.
Rather a long wait for cooked breakfast. Could have been hotter.
Booked hotel with confidence as have stayed several times over the years as have family in the area. Horrified to find heavily stained mattresses and pillows both in room we'd booked and the alternative room offered to us. Spoke to manager/director on phone who was extremely rude and said he didn't believe us even though the young gentleman on reception had seen for himself and explained to him. He said we weren't getting a refund and we could either stay in room we'd booked or leave. We chose to leave as wouldn't be sleeping in dirty beds, this left us 4 hours away from home with nowhere to stay. We sent an email requesting a refund and that we have photographic evidence should this be needed. The manager/ Director called us the following day and in a complete U turn agreed to a full refund which we have now received.
It was bad enough to find the condition of the beds we were expected to pay to sleep in but to be spoken to in such a rude and frankly quiet aggressive manner was totally unacceptable and therefore would NEVER return to Findon Manor or recommend it.
Friendly team. Simple check in. Lovely building. Good room. Great bed. Delicious breakfast. Car park right by entrance. Beautiful Village and area.
Delicious breakfast but… sausages and black pudding contained gluten; coffee weak! But great waitress, lovely setting
Lovely dated hotel . Sadly we had booked during the june heatwave . The rooms were plenty big enough. We were supplied with free standing fans. No air-conditioning supplied due to the old building. The breakfast was banging , sausages are to die for. Plenty of parking. Not far from our wedding venue we were attending .definitely recommend but book direct if you can .
Stayed at the hotel for a wedding. Staff were incredibly accommodating and helpful! Facilities were great and had everything we needed. Despite check-in times, to fit in with the wedding we were able to check into our room early, which was so helpful.
Only complaint was the shower pressure was very poor. But hotel was clean and had everything we needed.
Good breakfast.
There seemed to be a lack of staff.
Tables not cleared away left for some time before being clearing which is not a good impressive hen you walk into the restaurant initially.
The staff member was pleasant when dealing with us.
Liked the interior decor and overall the staff were very pleasant to deal with during our short stay.
There is a lovely outside area at the back of The Manor which has a lot of seating.
However, the steps and the pavement require a good sweep and tidy.
The garden overall needs maintaining better as it could be so much more appealing.
Excellent food available throughout the day and evening
Nothing
Have stayed here several times over the years as have family in the area.
Booked a 4 night stay in twin room.
Arrived and checked in by a pleasant lady.
Room appeared to be of the usual standard but later noticed some staining to the bed base, on closer inspection we were horrified to find really badly stained mattresses and pillows (no pillow protectors)
Went to reception and spoke to a young gentleman who came to see for himself and agreed this was not acceptable and offered room change but to a double, we'd paid £60 extra for the twin room. Unfortunately the pillows in this room were also badly stained and therefore decided not to stay and asked for a refund.
The gentleman began to process refund but couldn't and had to contact the manager, the phone was passed to me to speak to him.
David was very rude and began to shout saying he didn't believe us and he wasn't giving us a refund our choice was to stay in room we'd booked or leave. We said we would be leaving. He said he'd inspect the rooms himself the following day and call me.
We were left 4 hours away from home with nowhere to stay.
We emailed the hotel to put in writing our request for full refund and reasons, also that we have photographic evidence should it be required.
I called the hotel the following day to speak to David but he wasn't there and wasn't expected at the hotel that day.
I asked the receptionist to get him to call me which he did with a totally different attitude and complete U turn agreed a full refund which we have now received.
The whole experience was very upsetting and something I certainly didn't expect from what I have previously experienced from this hotel.
Needless to say I would NEVER return to Findon Manor
