Location
Food.
Garden room and restaurant were excellent
Access to and from the garden room was via steps so not easy for people with mobility problems
We had a warm welcome from Flo, she also informed us of local places to visit, which was very useful! The breakfast was very good and staff were polite and smiley!
Can't fault it!
Great location. Excellent staff. Very good breakfast. Beautiful property. Comfortable room.
Stairs. We were on the top floor. A lot of stairs to carry our luggage.
What a gem! The hotel has classic elegance and stunning views of Pitlochry. The bed was very comfortable. It is sooooo quiet and peaceful there. Full disclosure, there is no elevator, so all rooms will require you to climb stairs. The very helpful staff will happily carry your bags upstairs, though.
I hated to leave!
It is a couple of years since we last visited. We were pleased to it has lost nothing of its charm.
This time we stayed in a Premier Room in the tower part (Room 4) in early June. We didn't have the benefit of a visit to the Festival Theatre on this occasion, as we visited on a night when the theatre didn't have something on. Nevertheless, it gave us more time to sit and relax for dinner at The Knockendarroch. The meals here are exceptional. You occasionally hear the term 'to die for' but this was certainly true of the starter in Filo pastry - an absolute triumph, delicate and packed full of natural flavours.
Everything here is to a high standard and oozes class without being 'stuffy'. Our evening meal was to the accustomed high standard, as was breakfast.
We hope to return again soon.
