Overall ambience of the place. Everything seemed to be 'in its place'. A great deal of thought has been put into making this place into somewhere you'd want to return. We ate in the restaurant shortly after arriving and had our meals which can only be described as very good. Breakfast the following morning was excellent as well. This might be a quieter time of year but I can imagine it must be very busy during high season.. lots of things for families to keep little ones occupied outside with the outdoor facilities.
It was an amazing deal for the price we paid which included breakfast and we have paid much more at other places and not had such quality. I'd certainly recommend Hunters Lodge to anyone looking for a stay in the area.
Our only tiny complaint was our room (No. 10) is situated right next to a central heating boiler(?) thing outside... which mad a little noise but nothing that was too much to be a nuisance. Otherwise everything was great.

Breakfast options were OK, but we would have preferred more non-cooked breakfast options.
Only fresh apples, bananas, and strawberries available.
We do have a preference for healthier less carbohydrate rich foods, such as toast, hash browns, and less processed foods like sausages and bacon.
This includes the evening menus as well.
Quiet, comfortable room and good bathroom. Lovely, generous breakfast. Helpful and friendly staff. The room was on ground level and the bathroom had a walk in shower which was great for me as I have limited mobility.
The TV remote did not work properly and sometimes the tv would not turn on. this was frustrating for me as I have to rest in my room a lot and TV is a good companion.

Fried eggs not fully cooked, jelly like on top. Scrambled eggs tasted like powdered ones.
The breakfast was excellent as one of us was celiac and they had a good breakfast think we've put on a little weight ha ha. We thought you were closer to longleat but it wasn't that to extreme
You could have more choice on the menu for celiac as there was one fish dish or 10oz gammon but the food was lovely

Some areas are a bit "tired" and in need of TLC, but this did not spoil our stay in any way
We used this as a stop to visit Longleat Safari Park and it met our requirements. We had a large accessible room which was perfect for our needs. Our friends had a normal double room which again was very good.
The breakfast was good with a good choice. We ate in the pub both evenings and the food was good and value for money.
It is located on a busy main road and this may not suit everyone although it didn't bother us.

It was close to the A303 and a good stop off point for Cornwall. It had several outdoor seating areas and great children’s playground.
The mattress was a little worn and lumpy so not the best sleep
Hunters Lodge is a very good place to stay. The room was pleasant and the bed was extremely comfortable. It was quiet considering the main A303 was very close. The staff were pleasant and friendly.
The only thing that was disappointing was the breakfast- the choice was excellent but the cooked food was barely warm-this needs to be looked at and a way to keep it hot should be investigated!
Breakfast was very good. Room was also very good, but my wife found the bed a little uncomfortable. Surroundings and settings were excellent.
