Very little, only the fact that that we found a much nicer establishment a couple of miles down the road and we definitely not be revisiting the Vines
There was no breakfast on Sunday, in fact the whole Bar restaurant area was closed until 3pm. Apparently the duty employee failed to wake up and did not come in. We believe this is a breach of contract. Breakfast on Monday was only continental which we were not told beforehand.
The location it's self was lovely and quiet in beautiful surroundings
The room was very comfortable but had a few cobwebs. I paid for Cooked breakfast which was unavailable because the chef was non existent which I was told on arrival and was very disappointed as I specially booked this hotel for that reason
Clean rooms and in a fantastic location
Wasn’t informed when booking that there wasn’t any cooked breakfast, and on the Sunday morning no one turned up to do the continental breakfast leaving me and all the other guest very disappointed
Location
Everything bar location
Near where we was visiting so great location.
When we got there we was told no food. No cook no restaurant and no manager. I wasn’t told any of this and I booked in October 2025! Would have been nice to have an email explaining the circumstances of the business.
The ground floor room was very good. It had a small fridge and a fan too and there was plenty of room. There was ample tea and coffee and milk provided and great Border biscuits. Very quiet. Great location.
It said breakfast included. We expected an English breakfast like we had last year when we stayed. So we were a bit disappointed when only a continental one was offered. Having said that the bread was good for toasting, the tea and coffee good a good selection of yoghurts and fruits were available too.
Close to the wildlife park
Room for the price was shabby, had a horrible smell in the bathroom..no food onsite and breakfast was mediocre.
Leaving
Staff, cleanliness, Odour
Bed was comfortable, water, tea and coffee supplied in room.
Broken shower, arriving for breakfast at 9:40am and being told breakfast finished at 9:30am when info sheet in bedroom stated breakfast was on till 10am. Definitely not four star accommodation.
Location is lovely. Staff very helpful.
Quiet. Enjoyable continental breakfast.
The beds were awful.
Mattresses worn out.
No restaurant open in the evening although the member of staff on duty booked us in to a restaurant in another nearby village.
It was quiet.
We stayed on a particularly hot day, and unfortunately the room was very small with very limited space to move around. A fan had been provided, which we appreciated, but it was quite heavily coated in dust. The power lead was also too short, meaning it couldn’t be positioned safely without creating a trip hazard around the bed.
Unfortunately, the chef was unwell during our stay, which was completely outside the management’s control, so the kitchen was closed. There was one gentleman running the bar, who was very pleasant and welcoming. Our room (No.6) was very small, with a small window so it was hot.
Overall, there were some positives, particularly the friendly service, but the size and condition of the room, along with the lack of dining facilities during our stay, made the experience less comfortable than we had hoped.
