I have already responded on this. I did not stay there, I left at 10pm after a series of issues
People were very friendly and helpful!!
Bar and restaurant were shut
Great location and views from the room.
The location was great. Our room overlooked the Jimmy Perez house.
The hotel was handy to town. Most things were within easy walking distance. We had a room that looked over Bain's beach and the harbour so we could watch what was going on around us.
The room was smallish so not a lot of room for two suitcases. The restaurant was not open when we visited but there were plenty of options in town.
Can't fault the helpful staff. Great location and historic building.
Not really a proper hotel as no facilities beyond what is in the room eg nowhere for quests to sit in a lounge
Needs some investment, starting perhaps with replacing the frayed towels.
Needs maintenance - the bathroom light did not switch off
Staff.
Being, initially, allocated to a single room when a double had been booked and prepaid. A partial view of the harbour, at a 60+° angle from one window, does not fulfil my expectation from a stated sea view. Tend not to have much use for TV in a hotel room, but this one was too small to be of any use. Short form bath. Layers of dust in curtain folds. Bar and restaurant closed, no advance warning, and no residents lounge area.
Deep window sill and window looking out to the bay. The heavy wooden room doors and brass fixtures were classic.
The lobby entry off the street was not clearly marked and the lobby was probably the most unattractive part of the entire hotel.
The room was actually quite nice with great views.
A nice guy carried our bag to the room - a long way, no lift.
Tried 4 times to contact hotel before I got an answer. Reception not manned mostly. Numbers on boards to phone for check out, check in, assistance etc. This is not acceptable when you're a hotel.
This lovely old building is arguably the prettiest hotel in Lerwick from the outside. It's right on the waterfront, and my room has beautiful views across the harbour to Bressay island. Check-in was brilliant with a lovely warm welcome by Skyler (sorry if my spelling's wrong!) who even showed me to my room on the top floor. The room was clean, as was the bathroom, and nice and quiet.
This hotel could be SO much better, if some money was spent on it. "Faded grandeur" about sums it up.
No breakfast, only good thing was location
Had to get 3 things repaired, dirty cups not replaced
Wow, this an amazing historic building, incredible view of the sound and Bressay out the window and A1 location. Room was large and clean and functional.
This is a historic, meaning old building, floors creak etc. it is not flash but has majesty. It was quite expensive, but not much accomodation in Lerwick.
Staff looked after me very well and advised on places to visit plus information on restaurants in the area.
View from my window was excellent.
Nothing!!
Beautifully located and fantastic views
Borderline cleanliness, tired and in dire need of a refresh. The soundproofing is sub par so not recommended for light sleepers. This is a place that has so much potential but is clearly struggling.
