The Knowes Hotel & Restaurant

Excellent location. Clean, tidy and very comfortable room. Excellent staff service in all aspects from check in to dinner to breakfast and check out. Fantastic meals and meal choices both for dinner and breakfast. Lovely base from which to explore this area. I would certainly stay again and recommend to family, friends and strangers alike.

Spotless, comfortable with great food and cocktails

The Hotel was an absolute delight from start to finish. One of the first things you notice is the spacious, complimentary car park a real bonus and something that’s surprisingly rare. On arrival, You are greeted by the warmest, friendliest staff, who immediately made me feel welcome.
The room was beautifully presented and finished to a very high standard a real credit to the housekeeping team, who were not only excellent at their jobs but also incredibly friendly. It had everything i needed, including plenty of power sockets, a convenient USB port, a large TV, a fridge, and a useful desk area. The modern shower was well equipped, and the complimentary tea and coffee were a thoughtful touch. My room also had a balcony overlooking the village, with a lovely view stretching out to sea. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
The food was another highlight. The owner is a chef, and it really shows in the quality of the cooking. Everything I tried was delicious, and breakfast was probably the best I’ve had all year fresh, satisfying, and a wonderful way to start the day.
I’ve stayed in 25 hotels this year, and the Knowes Hotel stands out above them all. From the welcoming service and comfortable, well-appointed rooms to the excellent food and beautiful views, every detail made for a memorable stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it and would happily return.

Food, service, rooms all superb

Excellent breakfast choice and great quality. Great view from my room. Evening meal good, but a bit too much for my rather poor appetite.

I’ve worked in rec catering industry for nearly 30 years, in last 20 years as a steward offshore. Due to the nature of my job, I stay at a lot of hotels around the country. I can honestly say this was the best hotel I’ve had the pleasure to stay in

Excellent breakfast choice. Evening meals very good but too much for my appetite. Everyone was very tolerant of my poor mobility. Staff very willing to help with my luggage.

Staff very welcoming and helpful, lovely breakfast, super clean and comfortable bedroom.
Happy haddock a short walk away, does fab fish and chips. Dinner in hotel lovely. All good, and would return.

This hotel is stunning, could almost be 5*. Room was huge, ultra modern, terrace with sea view, fridge and air con rm107. Staff were very friendly and nothing was any trouble, got a takeaway and was given a bowl and cutlery. Restaurant food and breakfast was very good also.
