Wonderful hotel with professional, kind and attentive staff. Excellent north Raleigh location.
Pros:

The excellent experience started with Emily, the evening front desk person that was very kind and helpful in checking us into the hotel and putting us in a very quiet feather free room on a very late reservation and checkin. Emily is very knowlegeable, professional and kind. The room was indeed very quiet and comfortable. In the morning the 2 ladies at the front desk were also very helpful as we checked out a little later than the standard 12 noon check out time. We would stay at this hotal again.

Cons:

Difficult to get the the black out curtains to fully close 100% (a common problem at most hotels for late risers). The toilet flush handle did not function properly. Engineering responded promply.

Rude at the front
Pros:

Upon entering the hotel, after a very late flight, the front desk clerk (jyah or something similar) didn’t greet me when I walked in, she did however stand up from her chair. Once I reached the front desk she still didn’t greet me just said “are you checking in and I need an id” no eye contact or sense of care for me as the customer or the company. This sentiment was confirmed by her response to my question of “wow what’s that scent it smells amazing” she said I have no clue, not once looking up nor showing care, just hurried to get back to whatever priority she was dealing with on her phone.

Once we reached the transactional portion of the check-in her demeanor did not improve, she coldly said “I need a credit card with the same name of the reservation” dry, no thank you for staying with us or thank you for being Gold elite or anything.

And what really made it worst was when I was given the key to the room she said “oh yeah you can’t leave your car there you have to park somewhere where it doesn’t say 10 minutes, or handicap or in the garage.

I said to her I parked in front of where it reads valet. And I asked her where was the valet she said they were closed. I said okay can I leave the keys with you, she then said to me “I am not valet, so no”

This level of smart remarks, to a customer who doesn’t know your policy or who is paying your company way too much for a few hours of sleep is why businesses shutter.

Regardless how beautiful this hotel is it will forever be stained with her nasty attitude.

If this hotel valued its customer never would they have an employee at the front desk who is clearly not understanding her job.

I don’t need an attendant or even excitement but the moment I start feeling like I’m bothering you is the very moment I start feeling like I will ever use your services ever again!!

It’s late/early so typos and all will be left here, but why should I spend time editing as if the service I received tonight warrants clarity.

Worst hotel in Raleigh
Pros:

The worst Marriott I’ve ever stayed. We are Bonvoy members and only stay at Marriotts. Have only been pleased. However, this hotel was the worst place we have ever stayed. Air conditioning in room barely worked. Phones in rooms didn’t work so you could not call to complain or to call for room service. Didn’t get housekeeping and was gone from 10am to 3. They came around 4 but was too late as we were staying in with kid for the night. But couldn’t order room service cause the phone didn’t work. Had to use my cell phone to call downstairs and guess at the menu. Only chose this place for location, which was nice. But would chose any other location in Raleigh and just drive. Worst Marriott I’ve ever stayed in. Do not stay here! Especially with kids

Perfect Location. Excellent for groups.
Pros:

The location is perfect ! Right in the heart of shopping, restaurants, and entertainment. It’s an ideal spot for all types of gatherings and made coordinating our group stay so much easier. Everyone in our group was happy with the experience. We did have a few minor incidents during our stay, but the front desk manager and staff were quick to respond and resolve everything professionally. Overall, a great stay at the Renaissance Raleigh North Hills Hotel.

Pros:

Wonderful front desk staff. Upon check in my bank had locked my card thinking I may have a fraudulent charge. The front desk staff was very patient and helpful. Room was huge!

Cons:

I had a small concern which was addressed immediately and staff gave me points on my loyalty card. I didn't ask for anything they immediately took care of the concern.

Bar closes at 11 pm on weekdays....but market was open.
